The classification of Defect is an important step in determining whether goods should pass or fail to inspect and it helps to take an informed shipping decision by considering the quantification and severity of various types of defects identified.
There are three types of defect like below:
1. Minor defects
2. Major defects
3. Critical defects
All of these defects classify in the base of its position, size, visibility, etc. criteria. We will find each defects in different defects class. Because every buyer has some special rules or AQL system for their defects classification.
1. Minor Defects: Minor defects are generally tiny, insignificant problems that have no effect on the item's function or shape. The client would not even notice a slight problem with a product in most instances. And the client alone would probably not return an item bcz of a small defect
2. Major Defects: Major defects is more big and visible than minor defects. A product with a major defect substantially departs from the product requirements of the buyer. Major defects are those that could adversely influence a product's function, efficiency or appearance. The client can easily detect these defects. These failures probably lead to a return of the item, a complaint or a reimbursement request from the client
In the case of major defects, most importers set a smaller limit than minor defects in their samples. Often they recognize an order that contains comparatively few major flaws. However, if the products fail to be inspected owing to a large number of significant flaws, they are likely to dismiss the order or ask their provider to keep or rework the order
For example, Some major defects are
1. Broken Stitch
2. Skip S/T
3. Crack S/T
4. Open Seam
5. Pleat
3. Critical Defects: The critical defects are the most serious defect for every buyer. Critical errors make a product totally useless and/or could damage the user or someone near the product. These defects have placed companies at great danger of product liability problem legal proceeding and recall of product

ডিফেক্টের শ্রেণিবিন্যাস এর উপর ভিত্তি করে পন্য গুলো পাস বা ফেইল হবে কিনা তা নির্ধারণের জন্য একটি গুরুত্বপূর্ণ পদক্ষেপ এবং এটি চিহ্নিত করা বিভিন্ন ধরণের ত্রুটির পরিমাণ ও তীব্রতা বিবেচনা করে একটি সিদ্ধান্ত নিতে সহায়তা করে
এই সমস্ত ডিফেক্টগুলি তার অবস্থান, আকার, দৃশ্যমানতা ইত্যাদি মানদণ্ডের ভিত্তিতে শ্রেণিবদ্ধ করা হয় । আমরা প্রতিটি ডিফেক্টেই এই ডিফেক্ট শ্রেণিতে খুঁজে পাব। কারণ প্রতিটি বায়ার ডিফেক্ট শ্রেণিবদ্ধকরণের জন্য কিছু বিশেষ নিয়ম বা AQL সিস্টেম রয়েছে।
ডিফেক্ট গুলিকে সাধারণত ৩ ভাগে বিভক্ত:
১। মেজর ডিফেক্ট
২। মাইনর ডিফেক্ট
৩। ক্রিটিক্যাল ডিফেক্ট
১. মাইনর ডিফেক্ট: মাইনর ডিফেক্টগুলি সাধারণত ক্ষুদ্র, তুচ্ছ সমস্যা যা আইটেমের কার্যকারিতা বা আকারের উপর কোনও প্রভাব ফেলে না। কাস্টোমার বেশিরভাগ ক্ষেত্রে কোনও পণ্য কেনার সময় এই সকল মাইনর ডিফেক্ট গুলো অনেক সময় লক্ষ্য করনা। এবং কাস্টোমার সাধারনত একটি ছোট ডিফেক্টের কারণে কোনও আইটেম ফেরত দেয় না।
উদাহরণস্বরূপ, কিছু মাইনর ডিফেক্ট;
1.আনকাট থ্রেড
2.ছোট স্পট (তেল + ডার্ট)
3. কাঁচা প্রান্ত
4 পাকারিং
5 পাইলিং
২. মেজর ডিফেক্ট: মাইনর ডিফেক্টগুলির তুলনায় বড় ডিফেক্টগুলি যা ক্রেতার কাছে দৃশ্যমান হয়। একটি মেজর ডিফেক্ট যুক্ত পণ্য ক্রেতার কখনোই ক্রেতার চাহিদা পূরণ করতে পারেনা। মেজর ডিফেক্ট গুলি বলতে বুঝায় যে সকল ডিফেক্টগুলি কোনও পণ্যের কার্যকারিতা, দক্ষতা বা প্রেজেন্টেসনকে বিরূপ ভাবে প্রভাবিত করতে পারে।
উদাহরণস্বরূপ, কিছু মেজর ডিফেক্ট হলো;
১। ওপেন ইস্টিচ
২। স্কিপ ইস্টিচ
৩। ক্র্যাক স্টিচ
৪। ওপেন সিম
৫। প্লিট ইত্যাদি
৩. ক্রিটিক্যাল ডিফেক্ট: এই তিন ধরণের ডিফেক্টগুলির মধ্যে ক্রিটিক্যাল ডিফেক্ট সবচেয়ে গুরুতর। ক্রিটিক্যাল ডিফেক্টগুলি একটি পণ্য পুরোপুরি অকেজো করে তোলেতে পারে। এই ত্রুটিগুলি প্রতিষ্ঠানকে পণ্যের দায়বদ্ধতা সমস্যা, আইনী কার্যনির্বাহীকরণ এবং পণ্যগুলি পুনরুদ্ধারের বড় বিপদে ফেলতে পারে।
উদাহরণস্বরূপ, কিছু ক্রিটিক্যাল ডিফেক্টগুলি হলোঃ
1. কোনও ধরণের ক্ষতিকারক উপাদান যেমন ব্রোকেন সুই, পিন, কীটপতঙ্গ
2. ভাঙা বোতাম
3. কেয়ার লেবেল ভুল
৪. যে কোনও ধরণের ট্রিমস এবং আনুষাঙ্গিক অনুপস্থিত ইত্যাদি
