This clearance on the shaft it is a manufacturing defect. I had the same, they sent me 2 more pieces and only the 3rd was right. This extruder is poorly designed, I hope the next version will be much better.

Ah yes I forgot to mention, I reached out to Jason and he promptly send me replacement spidershafts; much tigher indeed. It appears to have been a very early defect The new spider shaft doesn't seem anodized; most likely a decision taken to tighten tolerances

@@fractalengineering How's the performance been with the new spidershaft? That hob gear wobble seems like it would definitely introduce some "issue 6" like extrusion consistency issues.... I just ordered my first orbiter 2, hoping it's amazing!

@@rcvg69420 it definitely seemed to help, although I didn't run it for long before moving on to the Smart Orbiter 3 and that one's been a treat!
