Poor reporting ! I am a Chandigarh native living in Philadelphia with a degree in City Planning. There is nothing from American planning traditions that is visible in my City. And grid is not American planning concept. Ancient cities have had it for over 2000 years.

Le Corbusier, real name Charles-Édouard Jeanneret, was a swiss citizen from La Chaux-de-Fonds where he conceived several buildings like the Turkish Villa, the White House dedicated to his parents...

Too much concrete Brutalism can be quite depressing if not broken up with other natural materials in my opinion, plus the emitence of CO2 from concrete is not exactly great for the planet.

3:53 very grim -- ugly, harsh building and dirty-looking, unsightly water feature.

the buildings where left "naked" due to the low budget indian goberment had at the time. i love the brutalist look of chandigarh. its not perfect , but some parts aged really well.
