I have been playing the guitar for over 45 years. We tend to forget we all had to start somewhere, and it does no harm to revisit the roots (some that I have forgotten about). A great example of the use of this scale is Brian May’s solo on Queens “Bicycle Race”. Have a listen, it’s almost laughable how he uses it, genius!

Dear Charlie, isn't this the 3rd pattern in the C major scale and in Phrygian in the Mode?

You’re correct…but a beginner could think about it as just all the notes of C major in the open position 🎸🎸

I love this channel but I am curious why there are edits/cuts after every sentence. I don't think I've come across a video where there isn't an obvious cut after every single sentence. But I love Charlie and I'm not one to judge. The videos are awesome despite this.

Glad you love the channel and appreciate you commenting. The “experts” say there should be cuts like every 20 seconds to catch people’s eye due to the tiny little attention spans people have these days. Man it’s hard trying to make videos and please everyone. Someone will say they’re too hard…other people say they’re too easy. Love your tone…hate your tone. Love the diagrams…hate the diagrams. It’s always something.

@@LocalMachine cool conversation. Yeah if I watch videos by people I respect there are cuts everywhere…different camera angles, close, far, it’s all over the place. There’s a super popular KZfaqr that makes beautiful videos but he’ll do crazy stuff like cut from playing guitar to walking on the beach….and he’s got millions of subs!
