Umar Mohammed I like what you doing ,but I'm also curious about the label pool in Ghana of skilled workers. by Watching your video and listen to you about your project ,it seems you brought in a lot of foreigners to do the skill work and as an American of African dissent and I believe this is the majority of opinion's Africans Americans. We come to Africa to experience what it is like to live in a country that is predominantly ran by African. If you bring in skilled workers from out of the country how do you expect the young peoples in your country to get the experience if you keep bringing in people's who are not Africans.

I can see comments on here are very positive but we all don’t have to see a proof to think positive about Africa. I come from Ghana and I was amazed at the negative I first experience when I arrived in the states 20 years ago. I realize most people have been watching discovery channel materials for a long time, couple with stereotypes, there was no way to correct things. People used to ask me if I was lucky not being eaten by a lion. To me , that was luck of geographical knowledge of the continent. What I’m saying is, you won’t find a polar bear in Florida. If it make sense. The Serengeti is very far from Ghana 🇬🇭. We all can agree, in every human habitation, there are poor and rich people. I’m not denying the fact the per capita income is low compared to the western world. 50 years from now , there’s gonna be a mass migration back to Africa. All races not just black people in the diaspora. Educate yourself and rid stereotypes 1/1. Thank you.

I think you took the words right out of my mouth ..You can't go forward if you don't invest in your own people.
@addosolar5379 жыл бұрын
Ahiale Darlington I must respectfully give you a little better insight on this matter. I work in businesses in which a majority of my clients are African and West Indian and I have hired "my own" on many occasions. My opinion comes from some real experiences. I have created jobs in the USA and Ghana so when I say that, I am not making an empty statement. If I did not love my own people I would not be involved in the work I do. The reality is that if you want things to work, you must have a diverse workforce. One must be careful about the "pro-local/pro-African" workforce concept. I simply try to make sure we know we can move forward without being "blindly idealistic".
@darlingtonakogo62459 жыл бұрын
Addo Solar It all boils down to, do you want an easy route or you want something revolutionary, so long as we keep looking at our people without knowledge of how they got in those situation, our people would be stuck there and we would be a helping hand in their destruction(which realistically our own destruction, in the long run). How do you think Europeans work in Europe? Pro-European, trust me, I would know. "blindly idealistic"? No, Realistic! The shift in World trajectory, making Europeans a "desirable" workforce didn't happen because their people decided to choose Africans over Europeans under an illusion of diversity.
@darlingtonakogo62459 жыл бұрын
Look at China, those guys stick together like glue and now they get to milk Africa too in support of their own people, if you haven't realized, you live in a world where everyone is patriotic/nationalistic and racially nepotistic. The only people they sell the diversity rule to is the African, do you know how Americans are pissed by their people manufacturing oversea? Now, Apple is bragging about how their Mac Pro is "made in America", everyone is trying to build their community and its people, only the African wants to help everyone except his own.
@john419969 жыл бұрын

@darlingtonakogo62459 жыл бұрын
john41996 Or make or break Africa, the return of Expats should remind Ghanaians of what happened in the past, just look at it, they're called "expats" whilst blacks in other countries are called "immigrants".

My brother, when I finished watching this video, I thought I could be the only person who noticed what you did! I'm glad that the first comment I saw is in concordance with my thought. There are plenty architects and experts in the field that are Ghanaian, perhaps he should include more of those to better sell the product. Also, I have never heard of a Kwame NKruman avenue in America, England or Germany... It's also fair to say that the the whole idea is good.

Utterly amazing and inspirational...I look forward to seeing the establishment of the use of sustainable energy creation and use in some of this portfolio of developments. Very well done. So far be it for me to say, but perhaps consider how you could be at the leading edge of energy sustainability in West Africa. This strategy only makes sense as older industrialised countries are moving away from reliance on fossil fuels and they are doing this by looking at novel technologies to replace this requirement and this is likely to happen in our life times: e.g. www.bbc.co.uk/news/science-environment-48122911 Consider harnessing the freely available sunlight that Ghana is blessed with to generate sustainable energy requirements of your city. Perhaps the name of the city is actually Solar City? A development of this nature may attract greater inward investment?
