Some of yall are to new to leagues if you think 90% ammo save is good enough to spam dragon bolts because a 2 tick crossbow will destroy those bolts. 90% means 10 shots = 1 bolt loss, 98% with assembler means 50 shots = 1 loss. The difference is massive. Farming them sucks in temp game mode. Also. I made a mistake with kandarin giving prims, that's all asgarnia. but prims are pretty minor so luckily this won't be the decision changers.

For those going Melee, keep in mind you can unlock the ruinous powers prayer book for a strong version of piety (without defense boost)

Been considering ranged DAF ever since they announced the Banker's Note. It has a nice option for all skilling with a lot of bosses that can be 'bank standed' on using onyx bolts (e) + Banker's Note to process skilling supplies. If they add another life steal relic on top of that, can pretty much just bank stand most of GWD with auto retaliate.

Mage route DKZ - Zeah gives cox obviously, but you get easy rune cbow, huge slayer area, Farming cape, which is basically a Crafting Cape (tithie speedrun), Wintertodt as easy construction / wc / fletching early on, also Konar slayer gives a decent chunk of materials, and a sawmill in wc guild!! Thralls, ensouled heads, blood altar, dragon warhammer, vardorvis and much more lol - Kandarin besides occult + zanyte has a lot of quests, 3 fruit trees, barb fishing, trident, whole ape atoll, nice hunter spots, red chins, one click tp (seed) close to bank and spirit tree, whole ardy (thieving), yanille (mage shop with runes!!!), 2 farming spots, ardy cape with prayer restore + farming patch TP and much more Oh also a piety too - Desert unlocks ancients, tempoross for easy food, toa obviously, but noone mentions easy teak logs for construction with recall thingy, mage training area, and other stuff that i can't remember right now, but ancients and toa are the main reasons why mages should go here Yeah i get it that i won't be hitting melee 60s with my magic relic, but i won't use other styles outside of raids

im going melee build and opted to skip kandarin and take zeah. You have Prim boots listed in kandarin, but this is also an asgarian specific area. primordial crystal from cerberus and the dragon boots from god wars.

Some things not mentioned; Soulreaper Axe is as good as the scythe, drops in sqeuence from any DT2 boss. So you can take say... Desert/Kourend and have access too early game points from kourend along with all its other bonuses and can do Vardovis for a soul reaper axe with the 5x drop rate with Fang on 2T meaning in theory its around 20-30s kills if you're proficient. You can then pick GWD for torva and have a melee build on par with 'Bis Scythe' without having to do ToB and take mort. For magic 2T ancients is a lot more potent than people give it credit for, especially considering with the frem route you gain access too the ancient scepter and virtus. With current known relics thats 50-60 max hit depending on spell with all the extremely powerful passive effects of the scepter. A common passed over discussion is area order and what they give, taking kourend first for example not only gives you raids 1. It gives you a very easy source of early game points/99 in Firemaking and Farming (Tod/Tithe) and farming cape being basically the crafting cape coupled with the easy access too a RCB on kourend (Limbs from steels, sinew from bears, stock from WCing guild) along with thralls which last league had a relic to max hit 12s, melee also gets the cudgel for early game on a very easy boss for 2T attacks. and finally; READ DROP TABLES NEX DROPS DRAGON BOLTS YOU SAVE 98% OF AMMO SHOT

I went mage relic & desert region in Trailblazer last time, the ancient magicks with the mage relic was quite decent damage, even without virtus/ ancestral / ma2 cape

I feel like for magic you left out that you can get smoke staff with kandarin in addition to wrath runes. Pretty strong pre-shadow I think, and thermy isnt many more slayer levels than it takes for trident anyway.

Im personally going D K M and going mage, i think full ahrims autocasting ancient spells at 2t will be extremely powerful in the mid game. Could also be cool to see a sanguinesti :)

DKF mage is going to be fun for me. Done like 10 ToA but this will force me to learn it

range relic gives you an avas effect iirc and also applies to charges on cbow/bowfa. i also think it does it for scales on bp too and darts

Personally going for DAF with melee. One raid is plenty enough for me to learn and any melee build is good with asgarnia. Frem is such a strong support region too with lot of easy content

Going scythe build v2, I feel like kandarin is such an obvious skip since it doesn’t offer ‘much’ for end game that’ll make a big difference now that the relics are crazy op. With desert you get a 2-tick fang before scythe, great armour for doing nex and two raids in general. Btw prims boots are found in asgairnia with dragon boots there as well so another reason kandarin in not needed :)

I think im going DAK melee but also a good all around gear ik melee will be my primary but i want to learn raid 1/3 mechanics and try out some goofy stuff like dhins

i doubt im gonna play long term so im going for a range rush build with TDF. grab the crystal stuff and blowpipe asap, then go to desert and rush raids and have fun, by time i get masori ill unlock fremmy so then i can spam dcb dragon bolts and stuff for the best dps.

Personally I’m going DAK. With the 20% dmg to mage relive I find that getting ancestral armor for the 3% over virtus not worth it. Augury only boost accuracy with is already giga boosted from the relic. Asgarnia offers a very well rounded array of gear for swaps you may need as well as 15% dmg from occult and torment.

I’m going asgarnia and tirr. Not sure about 3rd; I refuse to do cox tho so no point kourend. I might go wildy last and chill there till end of leagues. I’m not doing raids😂 purely just playing to chill. Yes I know it’s not “optimal” but I like gauntlet and zulruh. Maybe I’ll dip my toes into some wildy bosses too at the end

The range relic alone saves 90% of ammo, you aren't gonna have a hard time getting bolts. Plus with leagues xp rates make it easy for 99 range cape which stacks with relic....NO ammo consumed

what about kandarin desert mory for mage? you can get nightmare staff which might be a good spec weapon combined with the spec relics, as well as sang staff, both of which might help bridge the gap to the shadow. Also can't you get virtus with just desert, doing leviathan?

Started a 2nd character to do things differently and mostly wondering on order for the "novice" ranged build? Would it be recommended to go Fremmy first for DKs then move into Asgarn for Arma? I'd assume Desert would be last if Masori is the main draw since you won't be doing ToA for a while? I'm still fairly new to the whole endgame process so idk.

I think I want to go KDZ mager. Kandarin fitst for early game and mage gear, then unlock the desert to get ancients, and finally zeah. I think you really underrate 2T ancients. Trident of the seas at level 99 with a magic boost hits 30s, ice barrage is the same damage as soon as you can boost to it. That said, hitting 99 magic probably won't take long.

I screwed up my mage build and picked Morytania because I personally like Barrows.

Haven't theory crafted this too much so take with a grain of salt, but I actually like Wildly for the mage build over Fremmy. Upgraded scepter is an early trident alternative with a good spec. You also get ma2 cape easy instead of needing to grind for magus ring (no magus ring also means you can camp lightbearer for free). Doing wildly slayer to 93 will also give you a good shot at some dagon hai for pre-virtus pvm

Dont you need animal magnitism for Assembler. It's not on the auto complete list and mory needs an additional unlock.

You forgot the Wildy Kandarin Magic build. God Cape 2, full virtus, and ancient sceptre which lets you reduce monsters defence and magic levels by 15% for half spec cost. Then there the fortified ward for end game. Also Autocast barrage will be more dps than trident until you get a shadow. Especially if you get a +15% weapon like staff of dead, or nightmare staff, or even full ahrims. 😂

how do you get the ava's assembler if you don't have mortanya unlocked? doesn't the quest go there/

I'll go DKZ mage. Agree that fremmy is much easier and basically same power, but what u gonna do with that powerful build if not slappin the lizard. Last raid i was melee and that was pretty fun, duo tob was very easy with spec mel build. This league I want more of a challange.

just fyi, I don't think mage will be weaker than melee in the early and mid game. Mage's are getting 175% accuracy increase, and all casting will be the same speed as an abyssal whip, a 20% improvement over what melee gains relative to the main game. TBH, the real issue is that speccing could be meta depending on the final details of the spec relic. So Shadow could be outclassed by melee and range spec weapons since they can't miss on spec. And since nightmare staffs are the only endgame spec for magic, you'd have to take an entirely different route to compete.

idk if I agree with everything needing a lot of experience considering you're going to be doing way more damage, be tanker, be able to bring more supplies, and there being a massive increase to drop rates so you get the good gear a lot quicker. Even someone who is just an average RS player will be able to perform well in this.. and I think that's the whole point. Like the TOB at end game rates will literally give guaranteed unique drops when you hit the 5x multi. Even before that it's 1/3 or 1/2. And the scythe (5x multi) will be like 1/27? maybe I'm missing something, but that's not a crazy grind if you've got any bit of luck on your side. Especially when you'll be able to clear the content a lot easier with how strong we all will be. I hope no one is discouraged from trying things thinking they need to be a RS guru.

Non typical mage build. Wilderness for accursed septre and increased damage voidwaker. DWK Dessert for early tasks (tempeross and GoA), money and crafting with gems, and eventually virtus and ToA Wilderness for slayer, accursed septre, voidwaker, prayer and all the money you could need. K for zenyte, occult

You are overlooking an important detail in every single build. Raids 1 and 3 require you to have some damage from other styles, going desert zeah asgarnia for range leaves you with no magic weapon untill you spoon a tumeken.

but think im picking mage and going M/A/D in that order rushing barrows for ahrims staff and using fire wave to carry me through gwd with that broken ability to never fail a stun. Once i get spear/acb/sotd i will head to desert and camp toa with toa i can get fang with full masori/shadow head back to nex for some torva by then ill have bis melee/range without tbow along with the mage relic and shadow so my mage wont be shite...especially if i can get that volatile orb from nm with the spec relic....sounds good on paper so hopefully its a possibility lmao

prims is not in kandarin so only piety and zenytes will be good for kandarin asganrnia gives you prims because gwd and serberus are in asgarnia and the dragon scimmy is useless this league because d long will be faster. also speaking about cox it will be the worst raid if you dont know how to do it because it needs all 3 combat styles to finish

I feel like Jagex should do 6 areas instead of 5 cause I don’t believe that most players won’t get the best content for endgame challenges. 5 feels to small based on how big the whole map is, 6 is about right (sure some areas like Fremennik is small compared to areas like Tirannwn) but still having 6 areas would probably attract more people to play more than having 5 areas to access per account
