The released version is a lot stronger vocally, and much of what you’re hearing in the bridge and chorus is Cathy Dennis. Don’t get me wrong - I love Britney, she has a perfect pop vocal, brilliant pop songs, but her actual singing ability - it’s definitely not on show here.

You can tell her label hired that sound alike Myah Marie to sing her recent albums (especially the Britney Jean album) and Britney is just sitting back cleverly running the biggest scam since Millie Vanilli. I know what you mean and respect your point of view, but I'm pretty sure she could manage to record an updated version for this (even if she'd sound differently now - in the Carpol Karaoke you can see that she's capable of it). That would be more realistic and honest from her side. People don't go to concerts hoping to hear the exactly same versions/vocals from the albums. Actually, it's the precise opposite of that. They usually go to have a totally diferent experience - from outfits, scenario, lights, sound... to the voice itself.
