99% of contractors (several hundred thousand) in Iraq/Afhganistan were either local Iraqis or Afghanis being employed by locals, of the remaining 1% who were from foreign coalition nations 99% were serving non combat roles. Anecdotally I had two friends that were in iraq as contractors, one was a short order cook on base and the other was laying fiber optic cables on base. The average member of the public was convinced by mainstream media that "contractor" means a former special forces soldier who makes a six figure salary doing jobs too dangerous for the army. The reality is those guys worked as bodyguards for politicians and bounty hunters, the average contractor with a gun was a guy named Muhamed with an AK who was hired by a business to protect their store from looters for $2 a day I'd bet my left boot there are already US paid contractors in Ukraine. Probably adviusors for the Patriot missile defense system. What Biden is talking about here is almost certainly preparing the US media for the potential loss of a few American citizens working as contractors maintaining F16's in Ukraine.

@CombatVeteranReacts There were a lot of contractors in Iraq and Afghanistan that built infrastructure like government facilities, medical facilities, schools and so on. I had a family member that worked in Afghanistan for a while. He found it very discouraging. He said when when you just about done building or just finished building a school of medical clinic, they would often be blown up.

Nah... Ukraine is winning, Russia is weak. No need for "contractors". I mean, Ukraine has plenty of people willing to serve... especially when they haven't lost anyone really. Russia has lost 500,000 troops, Ukraine has lost 31,000. Russia is now basically fighting with shovels, running out of missiles and artillery, and the sanctions have destroyed Russias economy. Russia is literally using tanks from WW2. Ukraine doesn't need contractors... didn't you see the video Paul posted about the trap Ukraine was setting west of Avdivka? Worked perfectly!

@@mr.z3664 You want to be sarcastic. But first of there are no winners here and will never be any winners in this war. Whole cities have been leveled to the ground and thousands of Russians and Ukrainians have been wounded or killed. As long as Russia stays in Ukraine the losses will continue stacking up on both sides. Ukraine has a lot of people who could do and are doing a lot of the work needed to keep defending Ukraine. But with contractors you can bring in specially trained people that for example have worked on defensive systems in places like Fallujah, people that have worked on the Abrahams tanks for 20 years, military logistical planners and so on. So even if the idea behind contractors is that you free up people to do other things they also bring a lot of knowledge. It's not like you can train people to get 20 years of experience in something in a few months. Bringing contractors is also a commitment to Ukraine to help them end the war.

this could quickly switch to the PMCs becoming based in ukraine and nothing to do with USA for politics sake. I dont think this will happen but i am no military expert and nobody knows what politicians are really thinking and planning but it would be a really big move if it happens

I was a managed services contractor for almost 10 years. Even though I was a contractor it took me a few years to actually understand the benefits of using contractors. What it all boils down to is taking over duties for a client so that they can focus more on what they're best at. And I just now made the connection that this is exactly why militaries use contractors. Machiavelli was against the use of mercenaries but I think had he been alive in Adam Smiths time I think he might have had a more nuanced opinion on the matter.

In the 2000s I used to get after action reports, especially from Iraq. Don't ask. I remember one where a group of contractors were using ARs in .50 Beowulf. There was one series of photos where they broke down a concrete wall section with their guns. There was another of an insurgent who had been shot in the head with one. Serious stuff.

well they aren't "US ARMY 🇺🇸" its not a direct action , they are contractors that are payed a wage by the country that is using there "services" and there are many troops from different nations fighting for Russai 🇷🇺 contractors also , and as for North Korea 🇰🇵 "entering" this war with "direct" action is a dangerous escalation, and those involved in decision making at the highest levels in Russia 🇷🇺 and North Korea 🇰🇵 should be careful to not escalate this conflict further because the end will not be pretty

Hey brother love the vids just thought I'd point something out I've noticed since you've been showing off the new site. In the chart that shows the benefits of each plan it shows Colnel tier is $50 a month and below it in the pricing plans it says $45 not sure if I'm just dumb and missing something or it's just a typo but I thought I'd put it out there in case.
