Unfortunately Scholz would only allow to send Leopards after the US had sent Abrams - Challenger or not. So the US sent a small number of Abrams and the Leopards started comming. My dad was in the Soviet Union army in the early 80s. Him and my mom were both born and lived in Kharkiv Ukraine. He had to go to the army in 1981 he wasn't even 19 yet. Most/majority of the training received was against nato style weapons and tactics. We moved to America in the 90s because my parents saw things going really bad for Ukraine especially after the Soviet break up and them giving up nuclear weapons. Russia was in deep crap at that time so They essentially moved to America for me and my brother,they didn’t want us ending up in the army fighting a losing battle. My dad saw what happened to Soviet Union in Afghanistan and didn’t want that for us. I still have family in Ukraine,it’s mind blowing for them and my dad that the same stuff that they were trained to defeat they are now using to survive against Russia. It would be even more mind blowing if america gets dragged into the conflict and I end up fighting Russia and its allies. I would be beneficial because I speak perfect Russian and Ukrainian.

The US should have drawn the red line immediately when NK announced they were sending troops. The second those troops fire a weapon, its time to step in. This is ridiculous. Its pretty clear Putin will not use nukes as long as actually russian territory (not the stuff he stole from Ukraine) is not challenged. Which NATO has no interest in. We could end this in a few weeks without even putting boots on the ground. Air dominance could be established in a few days just launching from surrounding countries, then maybe a week of bombing to soften troop positions, then we allow Ukraine to move forward with their troops on the ground while supporting them with more air strikes. Maybe you deploy some more air defense batteries and some small deployments of troops to defend them. But beyond that, Russia can't get air dominance over Ukraine. Canada could establish air dominance if they wanted to. At this point I'm convinced that we're sort of allowing this to be dragged out to weaken Russia. Even if the war ended tomorrow, other than their nukes, which again, don't think they'll ever use. They just aren't a threat anymore

Ukraine has had foreign fighters since early on. Volunteer fighters, and mercenaries are similar but mercenary groups command their own operations outside of Ukrainian control. Probably the US is talking about Blackwater or similar mercenary group. Russia will make them priority targets to limit their effectiveness. The FAB 3000's will give them something to remember for a lifetime if they manage to survive.
