I wish LEAP would offer trainings to those in the mental health system, or anyone who thinks these skills could benefit them. Not just use as a medication compliance tool. I have had some success with this LEAP, but would be helpful to have a coach, or support group to go to. At times it’s difficult to use in the moment, or I am using it, and I don’t feel the person is being receptive. This could very much empower the MH consumer. This is a stated benefit. It could empower us in a way that’s not talked about. If you’re someone who doesn’t feel listened to, or that people react with hostility this is a very helpful thing. Causes the mistrust talked about. A vicious cycle of negative reactions. Created conflict. I have seen how LEAP can get people to react to me differently. Can create more cordial discussions, and foster understanding.
