Very much appreciated, I have taken up music production at the age of 45 in the last 2 weeks with no production experience, and only knowledge of mixing on a dj controller for the last 5 years, and getting bored of mixing other peoples' songs. Your style is laid back, but explained better than all I have come across so far, it encourages you to tamper gently with the settings to work this gig out for ourselves. Excellent, thank you, I definitely have a skill, and with your help I am learning to develop it. Thank you much love.

i set a goal to learn making music in 2024, just finished the first song and i already learned so much. I watched some other youtube tutorials before, but most of them skip parts that i would say as a beginner would be good to understand, they just turn button do this do that, it sounds nice but they dont really explain what each button does. So watching you explaining literally everything important that we are doing is really helpfull to not only do stuff but understand what we are doing. Im going to create the 3 songs now and come back for part 2 good contetn :)

I’ve had a copy of ableton installed for 3 years now and despite multiple attempts could never get my head round it. I play piano and have been eyeing up the roli seabord 2 but thought no point until I learn Ableton properly. Stumbled across your channel the other day and just sat down to go through this. It’s 2am and the whole day disappeared. Love this video. I now understand ableton a lot more than I ever have. Can’t thank you enough. Gonna join the discord and will share the finished tracks. Thank you thank you thank you.

Hi Julian, I watched this video in several parts because I'am a beginner and I wanted to stay focused every moment of this video. I am french speaking, I'm from Belgium and despite the fact that I'am not perfectly bilingual, I was able to understand everything. Thanks for your good pedagogy and your didactic means and also to your good way explaining slowly and your calm. And above all the fact you justify each gesture which help me a lot. A year ago I bought several books on sound design subject and watched a lot of videos online. But never practiced, because I wanted to know all the theory before I started. Three weeks ago I followed an online training explaining the chords, the piano roll etc and in parallel I installed the trial version of Ableton on my computer. Then, I came across your channel by chance, and by following this video I was able to realize three tracks, it's just amazing. Thank you so much. Also, I wanted to tell you that I followed a lot of people on YT for a year. And for me you are the best teacher online! I will visit your store so that it is necessary for me improve my skills and to continue learning by following you. And sorry for my english, but thanks to you, I had 8 hours of English lessons in addition to a course in music production :-) Enjoy and I wish you all the best!

I work a lot, so its taken me about a week to watch this. I do skip some parts, but this is the ultimate video for anyone truly serious about wanting to learn Ableton, or at least enough to create what you hear in your head. I cant thank you enough. I can hear these differences and nuances in the music i listen to but i didnt understand what they used to do it. A lot of people on youtube are just showing their little tricks and such, but you sir have laid out a great way to understand ableton. By far top notch information here. Its a shame the average attention span wont sit for 8+hours. Unless youre dedicated. Thank you for your dedication to our dedication. You knew we needed this. We knew we needed this.

Wow. As a retired guitarist for 20 years, the last tracks I laid down was on Fruity Loops back in 2003. I've had the itch to write again but have been too intimidated to even pick what DAW I wanted to get to know. I feel like I've lived 2 lives since I worked with music and sound, and all my band mates have moved on. This video has been really great to get back into using my computer for something more than work. One song down, 2 more to go, then off on my own adventures. Thank you sooooo much!

I just want to say THANK YOU! The way you explain works perfectly for me, it's easy to follow, and you talk about every part in detail. Most people who create content on how to use Ableton forge that this program looks like a spaceship with all the buttons, they don't take time to explain and just quickly skip all the parts, it mostly works for people who are already familiar with Aleton, but with your explanation, it becomes easier to fly this spacecraft. Thank you for putting the time and effort into this. you are a GEM!

Thanks for this immense generosity. A full course like this and with such well thought-out progression is rare. Every new information arrives at a digestible pace. I really like that style, very calm. I am probably not your average target group being an experienced and formally educated musician and experienced composer in the classic style, but it might interest you to know, that I all the time felt challenged in the best possible way.

I am on Song 3 and all that you teach is amazing, I always wondered how they get the drums sounding professional, I use to hate drums, but now I love drums, your drum techniques you have shared make the track sound interesting. Too be honest when I started using Ableton 2 months ago, I said to myself I will not use drums for the first year, but now I can embrace the drums and use them just how I would arrange musical notes. My wife and son had a listen, they both said its sounds like what you hear on the records/spotify - you have made by life simple and have taken away all the stress and anxiety...
