drop 2 simply means dropping the 2 from ur right hand chord to your left hand Next question is what is the 2? E.g. if u have a C major triad C E G how to figure out the 2 is to count or name the notes of the given chord from the top right to left ...how? G is 1 counting from top right E is 2 counting from top right C is 3 counting from top right So if we are dropping 2 then E will go to ur left hand hand while C G remains on ur right hand and that's a drop Technique being applied on that chord So it becomes LH/RH - E/C G That's the basic example of how drop 2 is being achieved

Drop 2 are voicings whose second to the highest note or voice is dropped down by an octave to the left e.g. take a C major triad CEG in drop voicing the E will be dropped to the left hand and you will now have a chord that looks like this E/CG where your left hand plays E and the right hand plays C G
