@@MunfuBitty You need to do more with Ricky and Karl. There's hours of unscripted content and it is consistently fantastic. In this one Karl never really understood that Ricky just set up this 'English Lesson' thing for a laugh. They are friends but Ricky just finds Karl to be the most funny person he knows. Karl isn't trying to be funny, never understands why Ricky is laughing, and complains about everything. He also has a very peculiar way of seeing the world. There's only one Karl. What you see is the real Karl.

whoever said i watched it? i saw ricky gervais in thumbnail and clicked, i watched video a bit to see their reaction and the awkward silence at beginning is perfectly describing how i feel about Karl. and then just as i said in my comment, Munfu started laughing AT karl thus further proving my point. I simply lost interest after couple minutes and decided to see whats happening in comment section before closing the video. its not that deep at all, dont worry, i just saw a comment i disagreed with and shared different opinion and my take. giving my 5 cents. @@digg_7

Karl Pilkington is my hero. Regular dude gets thrown into horrible exotic situations sent by Ricky and Steve. OMG "An Idiot Abroad" If you like Ricky Gervais and his comedy is EPIC!!! You should check that series out. It'd be great for reactions. Karl is the best everyman, He's not stupid but he's just a regular guy grew up in a chill neighborhood, has his habits and ways and likes keeping in the lines. Ricky torments him. Karl was a producer I think but he worked with Ricky and Steve when they had a radio show in England before Ricky took off. So Ricky, Steve, and Karl are kind of a trio. He can take it though. Karls got his own way of thinking and he can be very deep too. I really hope you do An Idiot Abroad I'd watch it. Hopefully I'll get some back up to bring notice to it in the replys and likes.

This is a guy all about being home with a hot cup of tea and a game on the tv and they send him in the first season to see the 7 wonders of the world but they make him do crazy stuff. Everything with Karl Pilkington is amazing, ricky literally centered an entire travel show around karl (An Idiot Abroad) because karl hates to travel and it's absolute gold, it also showcases karls outlook on things and it's rather wholesome as it is simplistic. What makes everything with karl so funny is that he is very dry and authentic, just gets caught up in things.

So there's a whole lore behind these two. They arguably had one of the first "podcasts", and for years used to have these objectively ridiculous conversations like this for years. Carl almost always has this "can't be bothered" sort of attitude, and has hilarious takes on everyday situations. Ricky likes to poke at Carl to try and set him off, so there's a whole dynamic between the two. This video is an example of the organic, unscripted converaations they'll have.

I feel like you needed to do some background on Karl Pilkington before you watched this. He was a radio producer that was assigned to Ricky and Steve Merchant when they decided to do a little weekend show on a small radio station called XFM in the UK. Karl is a very literal person who has some very unusual mannerisms and thoughts and Ricky and Steve were immediately taken with him and the way his mind works and started having him speak on the show and everything took from there, with a very successful series of podcasts following that. After this the best parts of the podcast were made into an animated series called The Ricky Gervais show, which is where I would probably start if I were you. They'd be fantastic for you guys to react to on the channel. Then there's so much more, such as Karl's introduction into TV with his own series called An Idiot Abroad, which is absolutely hilarious, and there's plenty more. EDIT: So to summarise this particular clip, it's basically just Ricky putting Karl in a situation where he knows he will be uncomfortable and no doubt say things about races that are inappropriate and funny.

I get why your lady was confused, when I first met this Karl guy I thought it was all scripted or something, but then you learn that this is just how Karl is and it's hilarious.
