These are great, but I always find it harder to build sentences from scratch rather than memorized common phrases and then tease out the rules. I think children tend to do the later since they often don't understand what they say, and it probably saves them a lot of time. Although it's kind of a more second handed way if you don't get to the root. Which way do you think is better? Memorize phrases and then tease out the rules, or memorize phrases and then find out which constructions are useful?
@KatChatsFinnish
@KatChatsFinnish 2 жыл бұрын
I think you should do what feels best for you. :) I don't know which way would be more effective, but if you have a preference and it motivates you more then that is probably the best way to go for you! :D
@Bit-while_going
@Bit-while_going 2 жыл бұрын
@@KatChatsFinnishThe second one should have been "memorize rules and find out what constructions are useful. I must have mistyped. I guess the reason that memorizing phrases is better though is that the rules you find are likely to be somewhere between your natural brain functions and what's prescribed by the grammar police. Anyhoo.

Very useful! But what about "nähdän pian"?
@KatChatsFinnish
@KatChatsFinnish 2 жыл бұрын
Nähdään would be the passive form of nähdä (passiivi). So changing the sentence a bit it would still follow the same rules: Minä näen sinut pian. Hope that makes sense!
