Sorry, everyone. I put "3500 RPM" in the thumbnail by accident. In reality, the correct figure is "3200 RPM"-which is still insanely high! I've updated the thumbnail but it might take some time to show.

Great video of my favourite player. Just to be precise, Ruud grip is "3/4 western" or the middle position between full Western and semi-Western.

Thanks for that! I had a take where I mentioned that but I actually edited out that part of the video. Will keep in mind for next time.

Maybe I'm wrong but I have seen Casper changing is grip for full western when he sees that he as the time and want to hit a winner FH.

Nice contents coach, does western grip produces more top spin than eastern in general?
@uchihasasuke7436
@uchihasasuke7436 5 ай бұрын
it's easier to get more topspin, but it all depends on the stoke and RHS

The grip predicates a steeper swing path which is why people feel they get more spin. But it’s all down to contact and the rackets angle of approach

lifting vs staying low really depends on the height of the ball, right? On this stroke he needs to elevate to get the ball in to a comfortable hitting zone.
@BeforeandAfterTennis

Not really on the height of the ball. Scenarios when you don’t lift as much: approaching, defending, when the ball has a lot of incoming pace.

You’d tell Tsitsipas to lift on this shot instead of staying down then? At 1:07 - kzfaq.info/get/bejne/jZNihLlmza63doU.htmlsi=z7Uh9ouEMNzaSz-Z&t=1m7s

@@TheAvestergaard depends on the speed of the incoming ball, and also what Tsitsipas is trying to do with the ball. But in general, to move the racket really fast, you need to unwind the segments and you initiate that through pushing against the ground.

I don't think that is the only reason for his massive spin , I think : 1. His raquet is very head heavy which allows easy swing path. 2. His raquet string comp uses PTP and PT Spin (which is a shapped poly). Also the reason why his setup is very good for clay and not for hard court . 3. Head 100 inch stiffer raquet. why do I say this , I copied his entire setup with an even more agressive string blend [toro toro mains ; enso pro cross]. it's a topspin machine but trust me , would hate to use it (very demanding ) needs a full swing at all times.

Yes, agreed. Equipment matters!

Do you have a String/ tension recommendation for anyone using the '22 ezone 100 plus thats a little more manageable? I was thinking a full bed of poly Tour Pro 16 might do the trick

@@jontip I love PTP. There's something magical about it in a yonex. When you say manageable-what are you struggling with? Btw-you should join my newsletter: beforeandaftertennis.beehiiv.com/subscribe
