Dude, this is awesome. I‘ve used fusion360 forever for simple 3d printable models. But I always made them to size and never truly parametric. I‘m getting into cnc machining and decided to rectify my knowledge gap. This video is by far the best one on the topic. Everything else I‘ve watched is either overly complicated or way too basic. This one is absolutely on point, engaging and fun to watch. Seriously well done!

Nice. Actually, this won't actually cover CNC/CAM stuff. We have a class that will cover CNC and CAM here: pdxc.co/intro-cnc-course This series is for people just getting into Fusion 360. I'd say that the CNC course and this KZfaq series will go well together though. We also have a handful of videos on Fusion 360 CAM here: kzfaq.info/sun/PLlQPaN85gB1k2DscKUAXMkTsqqu-qqDTW

definitely following, Been trying to kick the Sketchup habit for my projects for a few years now. I always turn back to it because most of what i need is napkin level CAD and sketchup is quick and dirty. The model library was nice too. However it's really clunky for any 3D printing and organic design and i've outgrown it. Thanks for creating this, love the "oops" being shown because that's how a new user would do it.

This was mind-opening for me. I'm brand new to modeling and drawing, and the little I do know was from SketchUp, but Fusion seems to more obvious choice, being a cabinet builder. My question is, I'm looking for a way to make a repeatable component like a shaker style cabinet door, that I can change the dimensions of on the fly, rather than draw out every door on a built-in kinda thing. Greatly appreciate your work.
@pdxcnc2 жыл бұрын
Oh great, I love hearing that 👍. I definitely think you're on the right path with Fusion. There are a few ways to tackle the cabinet door thing. The simplest for now is to make a model that's parametric and save it as a template. Make sure to use components for each part. Copy it to start a new model. I've got some more advanced versions that I'm working on making videos of but they're still unresolved. If you want just one aspect, you can use Derive or Insert Derive to put it into a new model.

It is free. Always has been and they have committed to having a hobbyist/personal license for free. They of course want you to pay for the product they are making and will prioritize that being the first option. I like being paid for the work I do as well. portlandcnc.com/f360
