Hello gentlepeople,
Here's a little alteration of my usual "pattern". Last week I wanted to carve a knight and messed it up and I salvaged the carving into a squire and I really liked the result so I carved a couple more and made a video.
Piece is ~1 1/4 x 1 1/4 x 3 1/4 inches or 3 x 3 x 8cm.
Wood is Lind (lime/basswood)
Knife is Sergey Belov 40mm

Great tutorial thanks! One day you will tell me how to strop for 5 minutes every 30 minutes of carving, right? Cause today I am carving 5 minutes every 30 minutes of stropping .... 🙃

I write all info in the video description. I use knives from a russian smith named Sergey Belov. They are seriously amazing.

What’s easier to carve, a small piece or a large piece?

Depending on what is small or large for you but I would say larger because you have more space to work with and you have better ways to hold the piece itself. It's less dangerous that carving a small piece.
