Let me begin by explaining that I have been trying to self teach myself how to hold a handstand for about 3 weeks now everyday practicing for about 30minutes to an hour and I was barely making any progress... I watch this video and instantly hold a 15 second hand on my first try... new sub here thank you!

The woman on the left at 3:12. Two other great tips for holding a handstand are spreading the fingers out and grabbing the ground with your fingers. You'll be even more stable doing so.

does holding handstand against a wall helps to get better at it? If I can't do a handstand without the wall, does practicing more against a wall helps it?
@nuhuhbruhbruh
@nuhuhbruhbruh 7 жыл бұрын
Yes, once you feel comfortable doing it with a wall you can lift off one foot at a time and eventually both while still having the wall there in case you want to feel safe.

actually maybe you should mentioned that the fingers play an essential role while learning the handstand? i mean when your body goes forward you should press with the endings of your fingers to hold back and the opposite thing when your body goes back. This tutorial doesn't give a full technique ! it's more about saying - ok for handstand you should stand on hands...wtf man ?

Your body is not straight, dude... (compare the way this guy looks to a gymnast) -- neck bent back with head out of position, with corresponding arch in back. Also, you are not in a "hollow body", your description of a hollow body is incorrect (it is not simply tucking your stomach and butt in...), and, anyway...a straight handstand is not a hollow body position. In a straight gymnastic handstand, hands, shoulders, hips, knees, feet all in a straight line -- that is not a hollow body position -- the only part of your body that should be hollow is your chest (scapulas spread apart, rounding the back, and hollowing the chest). Other than that, great tutorial...
