Stone carving is a type of sculpture (art). The stone differs from other materials in that it is difficult to give it a perfect shape due to its density. Stone carving requires patience and planning. Learn and use these steps to carve in stone.
Use easy-to-find stones if you are going to make a small sculpture that does not break easily if you accidentally push or scratch it.
You can find river stones and other soft rocks in local stores that sell materials for stone carving or construction. For example (Materials for stone sculptors) that sells soft stones for carving or sandstones with which to practice.
