you know what. this channel is changing my mind about shorts. I used to think shorts looked silly on every one but paired with roller skates they look awesome. Or maybe the skill of the skaters make the shorts better. Either way I'm gonna invest in some shorts soon.

Really good tips. Thank you! I had good backwards skills when I was 8yo in the nineties. Even doing speed skating backwards. Now hitting the rink over 20 years later and its a lot scarier than I remember haha!

omg backwards skating is one of my fave things to do!!! the way I build up speed is by doing the "bubbles" on one leg and using the other to steer... I also like picking up my back wheels and pivoting to change direction~

Thanks to you guys, I skated backwards for the first time today!! (all the way around the rink, too!!) I appreciate your videos so much!! Both you and Coco's techniques were really helpful!! After getting the feel for it, the hardest thing for me was to maintain momentum. I'm practicing turning around, as it seems like most skaters use their forward momentum and then flip around to start going backwards. More specific instruction about that maneuver would be great, I'm studying the How to Stop Fast video again for now!
