www.saddleback.com/miracleofmercy - The hardest place to show mercy is in your home. It’s often easier to show mercy to strangers than someone close to us. But, when we are unmerciful to our family, we have the greatest potential to cause deep hurt and pain. Pastor Rick Warren continues The Miracle of Mercy at Saddleback Church with this message called Showing Mercy to Your Family. You will learn four key ways to practice mercy in your own home and hear four incredible stories from moms who’ve practiced mercy powerfully in their own families.

It is a very difficult thing to do what the woman who testified about her broken marriage did. You could hear it in her voice as she spoke how difficult it is. God bless.

If I treated my family like I do strangers and friends our home would be awesome - all of the time! (I am more polite with strangers than I am my own family). And if I treated my friends and strangers like I often times abruptly, rudely and harshly treat my own family - I wouldn't have ANY friends! That is painfully convicting. I realise how rude I am to my own family. What a life-changing message. This is an area in my life that needed great correction. Thank you and Bless You Saddleback and Pastor Rick!

WOW I think Patricia's message about the Revenge is never good was somehow intended for me. I was questioning my self why I couldn't forgive this one person and have even contemplating for a revenge, I have been carrying this HATE for 6-8 yrs now and I have asked GOD to show me some signs and insights how and why should I FORGIVE this person Willingly and Intentionally with all MY HEART! THANKS! GOD IS GOOD, GOD IS GREAT!

I totally agree with Pastor, we tend to take it more harsh on those who are closer to us. For instance, i will scold and used harsh words on my loved one in order to make them understand the outcome of their action is not appropriate for them, but with friends, different story. For me, i don't usually bother with strangers as it doesn't impact me deeply, the thing I wanted to confess is how i can use a better way to deal with my loved ones more lovingly

What do you did when you're married to a narcissist? And you try anyway day in and day out, being as compassionate and appreciative as humanly possible, he's not at all interested in getting closer to the Lord with me and we're a blended family so he came in when my children were under 6 years old, both of them! And I have no support system. Now my kids are grown and living with their biological father. I'm sick the doctor's tell me and had surgery in December but still can't stand up straight and can only hardly walk. On top of all that, my husband has been constantly threatening to leave me, even as I struggle to walk in the house, to turn to look at him. I just don't know what I'm supposed to do. All I do is pray. God is the only reason I'm still alive, but I'm losing my 19 year old son because he chose to get out and join his sister with their father. Because their stepfather will not support him and is highly emotionally and verbally abusive to him and to me. I finally learned not to stand up for myself, but not standing up for my child is another story! Still I've been relatively quiet so as not to add any fuel to his fire and rage! My heart is breaking into a zillion pieces because I look at my sweet son's precious face and know this Friday, he'll be in another state.
