Can these be used to stimulate cardiac activity in cardiac arrest?

+otomodachifan No. In fact they are used to prevent cardiac arrest (or more generally to stop the reaction from getting worse).

David Cameron I was talking about someone who is unconscious (not due to anaphylaxis) and has no pulse or respirations. Of course, you'd call an ambulance and start CPR, but if you have an epi-pen, would it be of any help (ex. opens the airway). I'm interested in medical stuff so I'm curious.

+otomodachifan Oh I see. I don't know but I would imagine the answer is no, else it would - being a cheap and easily applied substance- be mentioned as helpful in first aid courses e.t.c.
