Yes, the NIMS 98431 part is widely recognized. I like using it as a starting point for all my classes!

Great video man!! I had a ? Though regarding mastercam. I recently wrote my first program and in the software everything seemed to be fine but when i put it in the cnc my feed plan was wayy high thus everything was high. So i go back into master and i discovered my zero plan was the thickness of the part and the bottom said zero. Please help me if you can

Sorry for the late reply, I would check a couple of things to make sure your work offset is setup correctly. Go to your planes tab and make sure your WCS, C, and T planes are where you want them to be. Then I would check the planes of your toolpath located in parameters to see if that specific operation has the correct WCS, C, and T. Lastly I would check that your linking parameters are setup in absolute (or incremental if you prefer) so that the tools are traveling to the correct depths. Hope this helps!

Former Chicago transplant- very cool that DMG has partnered with the IIT engineering department. More educational institutions need to be teaching this level of manufacturing, not just trade schools.

I know I speak for everyone in our department, but we are all so thankful for DMG MORI's efforts in pursuing this partnership. There are some great things ahead and I'm cannot wait until they come to fruition! Check out the press release that DMG MORI and IIT put out last December for our efforts on establishing a National Center for Advanced Manufacturing.
