That's also a color for black. It originally comes from the descriptive verb 검다 ("to be black," "to be dark").

Some colors can remove 색 to become adjectives, but not all of them - I wouldn't recommend memorizing that. If the word is originally an adjective + 색, then you can remove 색 to get the adjective again. But then you'd have to already know if that word was originally an adjective or if it was originally something else. For example, 갈색 is the color "brown" but you can't just use 갈 as an adjective by itself.

If you want to use "머리를", the sentence should be "저는 까만 머리를 좋아해요"

There are WAY more colors in Korean than I included in this video. This video only is an introduction to colors. Just like there are thousands of colors of paint, Crayola crayons, etc. You'd need to learn which colors are used in which situations, just like in English. When do you say "white" vs "bright white" vs "cream" vs "eggshell white?" Usually "eggshell white" is used in paints, and "cream" is a softer white. It's the same idea in Korean. You'll have to learn when each color tends to be used, and that's a big topic. But you'll learn it naturally through having a lot of practice conversations, so I wouldn't stress about it.

@@derpy5780 초록색 is more common. You'll learn which are the most common (the ones in my video are very common), and slowly you'll learn which situations other colors are used in.

Because 좋다 doesn't mean "to like" but "to be good." It's a descriptive verb and can't use an object. 좋아하다 is an action verb that means "to like."

Yes, but those can be used as nouns when not modifying any other noun - so they're not used in the same way as 노란색 which can also become an adjective as the video talks about. I didn't include them because this is just an intro to the colors, and wanted to avoid confusing people who are learning colors for their first time.

좋다 --> 좋아요 and 좋아하다 --> 좋아해요. They're different verbs.

@@onecuriousowl They're different verbs. 좋다 is a descriptive verb and 좋아하다 is an action verb. 좋다 can't use an object marker because it's a descriptive verb. 좋아하다 is an action verb so it can use an object marker. My books/lessons already teach how these words are different, but I'll probably make another video about just these 2 verbs in the future also. 좋다 means "to be good" but it can also be used to mean figuratively "I like...," but it literally only means "to be good" and is still a descriptive verb which can't use an object.

That's the past tense of the verb 당하다, and it can have many translations depending on how it's being used. You can think of it as meaning "to suffer (something)."

Carrots would also be 주황색 ("orange"). You can refer to them as red only in some specific cases, but not when talking about the actual color of carrots. You might say in an idiomatic expression that a person's face is as red as a carrot (홍당무, not 당근), but when actually talking about its color everyone says 주황색.

That's a word from 한자 (흑 = 黑), and there are even more colors if we talk about words that are from 한자 and formed with the 한자 colors. These however can't be used in any way - you have to already understand how 한자 works to know which words can/can't attach specific colors to them.

흑우 is not a native Korean word but a sino-Korean word, which means the words derive from chinese 흑 = Black 우 = cow Never use 흑 to say black, or 우 to say cow, I think Koreans wouldn't understand

Another common color for what you're referring to is 푸르다. Those sort of colors though aren't as common for those uses in everyday speech - they're more old-fashioned and poetic sounding.

@@CT-jp2ep 청 is another 한자 word too, so I didn't include those. It can only be used together with specific nouns.

If you try learning that way, you won't be able to use these colors in other situations. Since colors work like verbs, if you don't learn how they're conjugated then you wouldn't be able to use them in more than 1 situation. If you only learn that blue is 파란 then you won't be able to use it to be able to say that you "like" the color blue, or understand other people saying that something "is blue" unless they use that exact form you learned.
