Good lesson, but this method would be made much better by introducing a key vocab list and a quick test on it prior to reading the story. Love the fact that you have comprehension questions at the end :)

LISTEN AGAIN AND AGAIN AND AGAIN AND AGAIN. Thanks. Like the part where you even explain why such a word is used and not that one or this one.
@RussianWithMax
@RussianWithMax 6 жыл бұрын
Yes, that's the point of the storytelling method. You're not gonna try to understand it at once, but rather enjoy a story and let your brain feel comfortable with the target vocabulary. It has to be put deeply inside not by drilling, but in a natural way so you are able to respond automatically. It's not easy to apply all aspects of this method on KZfaq, but I wanna try anyway, just because it rocks! And you can also download the audio file in order to set your eyes free:)

Great stuff Max just started acquiring this language something I’ve been wanting to do since 8 yrs old. Question a friend of mine said don’t memorize words - he said listen to stories and get 1-1 practice - what do you recommend? Does your teaching subscription have opportunity for 1-1 conversational instruction? Also I am trying to learn words in Russian and follow your stories. Is that ok, does that work?
@RussianWithMax
@RussianWithMax 4 жыл бұрын
I could tell you something, but I'm sure that you have to figure it out yourself- what works for you and what doesn't. Your friend gave you a good advice, I'd recommend you trying it out. My subscription program doesn't mean 1-1 instructions, it is a content-based storytelling method for self studying. I wish you good luck on your way!

Great story!! Excellent video!! Я всегда учусь много от ваши видео. Question: At 5:50 you asked (кто страдал?). Is it normal to use the masculine form (страдал) and not the neuter form (страдало) when you don't know if the answer is masculine (страдал) or feminine (страдала)?
@RussianWithMax
@RussianWithMax 6 жыл бұрын
Спасибо! Ооочень рад, что такие истории помогают изучать язык!:) Yes, you're right. If we don't know who is that person we ask using the masculine form. E.g. -Кто приходил сегодня? -Си Ши приходила. -Простите, я не понял... Кто приходила? -С-и Ш-и. Си Ши приходила сегодня. -Оу, спасибо!
