You've discovered the cheapest way to play a CCG!

We are generally referring to older cards being illegal for tournament play. So literally cycling out of the "usable" card pool. This rotation usually happens in CCGs at the 4th set (when the 4th releases, the 1st cycles out, then 5th cycles out 2nd, etc) or at the 7th set. So either 3 sets active or 6 sets active. Lukas has talked in terms of 6 sets being active for Destiny, but no official statement.

Ambush only triggers *specifically* when you play the card. Anything involving the die or redeploy does not trigger Ambush.

It's sneaky, but accurate. p.14 of Rules Reference - • A player can resolve any dice with the same symbol, even if those dice were not showing that symbol when the player started resolving dice.

Yep, I understand that part of the rule so resolving focus into focus makes sense. I'm questioning whether force throw is in your pool when you choose to resolve dice. There's other aspects of the game like kylo's lightsaber and bb-8 where you can't resolve those specials on re-roll b/c they're not in the pool at the time you decide to resolve dice. I just feel the RRG updates answered some questions and created more. Thanks for the videos.

There is definitely more complexity to it than at first glance! The important point is that BB-8 / Kylo's illegality comes specifically from a rule to prevent it, not because those symbols were not in the pool at the time dice were resolved. p.9 • A special ability that rerolls its die cannot be resolved a second time during the same action. p.14 • A player cannot resolve the same die more than once per action. So when you choose to resolve dice, you choose which symbol you are resolving. You then proceed to fully resolve each die, one at a time (adding modifiers if applicable). If the resolution of one die adds more die of that symbol to your pool, you can definitely resolve them within the current action. The only exception, as listed, is if any of those dice have already been resolved during the current action. Hopefully that helps!

You cannot resolve a modifier by itself. Deflect does not resolve the die, so it can be used!

Found It, page 19, If dice of a specific symbol must be removed to trigger an effect, then it does not matter if those dice can currently be resolved. Symbols that are modifiers or require a resource match still count as that symbol. Thanks again for the insight

Direct damage does not ignore shields. Only unblockable damage ignores shields (because shields "block" damage). Enrage does not say "unblockable", so it can be blocked!

You also said that whoever controls the battlefield at the beginning of the game has the control the battlefield ability. Is that for the entire game from start to finish? So even if my opponent has already claimed the battlefield I can still use Dug In because I have the control the battlefield ability?

Go For The Kill says resolve one of your dice showing ranged damage. Can you resolve a modified die or damage for a resource without having to pay the resource or combine the modified?

You can play any color card on any color character, unless that card says something like "blue character only" or "red character only". This is different from deck construction, in which you can only include cards that match the color(s) of your starting team.

Whoever most recently took the "Claim the battlefield" action controls the battlefield. At the start of the game, no one has taken that action, so control of the battlefield defaults to whoever owns the chosen battlefield. If you brought Mos Eisley Spaceport, and it is chosen as the battlefield after the roll off (either by you or your opponent), you start the game "controlling the battlefield". You will have control until your opponent takes the "Claim the battlefield" action. If you always take the "Claim the battlefield" action before your opponent, you will maintain control of the battlefield.

"Many cards allow a player to resolve one or more dice. When a player resolves a die through a card, they use the normal die effect based on the symbol, and follow any extra instructions." • A player must still pay any resource cost on that die. • A player cannot resolve a modifier by itself. • A player cannot use modifiers when resolving a die through a card effect, unless the card allows them to resolve multiple dice of the same symbol. The CCG was excellent! Destiny is similar - what you get in each pack is random (1 legendary/rare w/ die, 1 uncommon, 3 commons) but the distribution is really solid! Any upgrade with Redeploy gets to move to another eligible character!

You can only bring cards that share a color with one of your characters, but you can play those on any character you want. For example you can put a yellow Vibrocutlass on the blue Darth Vader. The exception is certain cards will have text saying "Blue Character Only", such as Force Lightning (goo.gl/HSG15D).

Hey guys! Played twice this weekend, once with just the starter set, then with a real 30 point team and 30 card deck. Won the first game with Rey and Poe, but barely had any cards left and my opponent had a huge stack left lol. Actually managed to win the second game too after trading a few things with a friend! Traded for a second Poe die and a rookie pilot, then opened a few packs and got an outer rim smuggler. I ran Poe with 2 dice, the smuggler and the rookie pilot, and had to use every yellow card i own and put them with all the red hero cards from the starter box and I had just enough to make a 30 card deck. Ended up winning against Hux, a magnagaurd, and phasma, each with 1 die. (We looked up the newest rules and counted phasma as 10 points). Got poe's blaster on poe right away and ended up winning while only losing the rookie pilot. Can't rememeber what it was, but my opopnent smashed poe for 5 or 6 damage right at the last minute with some support card he had that he could pile damage on, then transfer all that damage over to me. I have to trade for another copy of poe's blaster to make sure it shows up, cause its bananas.

We are actually playing it correctly, though it can be a bit confusing. Check out page 19 of the rules reference under "taking damage". "Damage is taken only when one or more damage tokens are placed on the character. If all damage dealt was blocked by shields or some other ability, then no damage was taken. • Damage not taken is still dealt." Even though the damage is "not taken" when blocked by shields, it is still dealt. Dooku's ability states "before this character is dealt 1 or more damage" - so his ability triggers even if he does not take damage.

Well thank you then for clarification. Need to talk to the TO at my FLGS because they rule it otherwise. Never thought about the difference between damage dealt and damage taken. Keep up the good work!

It was a mistake, to be sure - but it was actually the better play to remove a Dooku die in order to delay resolution of damage between two types.

yeah, I'm sure you weren't cheating, especially on a teaching game. The misplay just reminded me of how a cheater got away with crap during a tournament game. You guys have good vids, I'm watching them all.
