When you say that the previous set is "not playable anymore," that only refers to official tournament play. For casual, at-home-on-the-kitchen-table, or random non-tournament, "pick up" games at the local game store, you can use whatever cards you want from any set! So if you have cards from a previous set, you don't have to dump them in the recycle bin! Keep them and build fun decks to play with family and friends. Just remember that if you go to a tournament, check the format and only use cards legal for the format. www.swdestinydb.com has a handy chart for each card that shows which format in which it is currently legal.

“Maybe this video is still around 5 years from now” I’m glad it is!! I won a bunch of cards in a Star Wars bulk product auction, and I thought this would be a game I’d resell. The game is the best trading card game I’ve ever played, to my surprise, and I was so sad to see it’s gone. Thanks for keeping the videos up, they’ve been a joy for me to watch and learn from. I love you guys!

I really dig some of the history of Team Covenant, and the other in depth videos you all have been posting. I just may have to figure out a way to take a road trip westward to your shop to check out the store (as long as you don't mind an old Jersey Boy stopping in for a game or two)

I knew nothing about SW Destiny, and I got the two player game as a Christmas gift. I have been hook ever since. And yes, draft and sealed are the best ways to play!

Another great series chaps. I bought two starters after watching this (well 1 and then a second a few days later) but wondered whether there was any point in keeping the extra kylo,Rey, Poe Phasma or even the extra dice for upgrades etc. Basically apart from the cards tokens and character dice is there any need to keep the rest? Thanks in advance and keep the quality content coming.

Hello! I recently came across your Star Wars Destiny videos and I've been wanting to start playing this game. The problem is that the two-player starter set is no longer available in my country. Is there another set from which I can get supply and resources?

yes. you have to say to people that there is and or format of play that allows you to play all your cards that you buy over time.. otherwise there would be no point of actually collecting or even going to get the older sets.

Could you please explain to me how indirect damage and power actions work. Can't find the information anywhere.

Indirect when you deal it, then your opponent chooses where to place that damage among their characters. And the power action is somthing that you can do once per round and you can do it again after the reset

I got a two player set, read the rues and the game sounds great. To bad it's a ccg though. My question is how many dice do you get with a draft starter?

The Rivals draft starter comes with one dice per dice card! No need to run elite since it is so rare in draft.

I was hoping to get into this game but the whole thing with playable and not playable thing sounds dumb. You should just have different rules for different tournaments. It makes me think that they aren’t making new cards that are balanced with the original cards.

My son and I just found this game have the destiny starter with Kyle and Rey I saw the empire at war box for like 35 bucks. We don’t care about tournament is that a great buy??

The packs in rivals are randomized right? But are the characters fixed?

There are no packs in the Rivals draft starters. It is just fixed characters and cards.

I bought a spirit of rebellion card booster box for $20 even though the game is discountinued is it still a good deal? I just want to collect these card s not play the game. I am a HUGE Star Wars fan. Also do you guys like the art on the cards? Are they worth collecting? I know this is a lot of questions but I would really appreciate a response!

It's the same calculus you might do for any "dead" game. If you just want to collect the cards, it's pretty easy to do so on a budget since the product is cheap. The art on the cards is great.

We do not currently offer that, but one thing we do see happening is multiple players splitting a Saga Set. For instance if you are a blue player, you could split a Saga Set with a red or yellow player you know.

For some reason im glad its discontinued becuase I feel like that would give you a chance to collect all the cards and appreciate them more, unlike tcg's that release new sets every 3-4 months

Hey James! That shouldn't happen. Star Wars: Destiny booster box contains 6 Legendaries, standard.

@@teamcovenant I want to make sure we're talking about the same thing. We are referring to the box of 36 booster packs, 180 cards in total, yes? My Convergence booster box (that I bought from you, coincidentally) definitely only has 2 legendaries: Phasma and Jabba. My friend's booster box was the same. Exactly 2 legendaries, Palpatine and Nest. So did they change the way booster boxes work, or are both my friend and I really unlucky?

Draft is a expensive proposition in this game. i dont see it aging well. example... draft kit 20$ + 6 packs @ 4$ = over 40$ to do a draft... waaay more expensive to play than MTG drafts (Canada) pricing. Another problem is getting charged full price for rare only booster packs.. not a good investment. yes its the luck of the draw but imagine buying packs for draft at full price from an opened booster box that had all the legendary packs pulled out. That is a flaw since there is an aftermarket of rare only booster packs sold for usually 50% less than packs that might contain a legendary...

Is it a bad idea to just grab a character starter (or the 2-player starter) and a few boosters? I really don't want to buy two of each, even if it comes with extra dice....

That was a great video guys, but I reaaaally think you droped the ball not mentioning the Trilogy format. It's basically made for new players starting out, focusing on newer sets and if you get on it now you don't even have to worry about the old cards. I realise it's not as supported as Standard, but still.

Yes they should have mentioned Trilogy. However I disagree that is is "basically made for new players". There are established players I know who just prefer the Trilogy format, and while I have not yet played a Trilogy event I am getting ready for one now and deck building with a newer, more limited card pool is a nice fresh experience. I wish Trilogy was seen as a more widely played format but as long as it is seen as "for new players" I don't think that will happen.

shivore Oh, I'm sorry, I didn't mean to sound like I was diminishing the format in anyway! I agree. When I said it was "basically made for new players" I meant more that it was perfect for a new player starting out as opposed to standard (and it was made that way purposefully) but not that it was some kind of "begginers Destiny" for new players only. I also wish to see more people playing and discussing Trilogy as a format.

It can seem that way. We think it is an attempt to control the meta mainly. With power creep and an increased card pool, things can easily begin to get broken. Although, FFG has made it very clear that the infinite game mode will always allow every card released!
