The LECTRIC has enough unique handling and power characteristics (surprises) that I’d be a little hesitate to let anyone just jump on it and take off. The combination of the short handlebar, 4” x 20” knobbies, bike weight, and electric propulsion make it necessary to get the feel of the bike in a safe environment before hitting the trails. The engineers put a lot of thought into how to administer the electric power. It has things like walk mode and cruise control, along with a throttle - but the Pedal Assist function (PAS) is the most interesting. There are 5 of them, with 4 and 5 being used only for 20+ And 24+ mph. But 1, 2, and 3 are what get used most often. 1 helps you maintain 8 mph, 2 helps with 12 mph, and 3 helps maintain 16 mph. The idea is that as long as you’re pedaling, then PAS will help you maintain that PAS’s mph. I do an 8-mile (4 out and back) trail that covers just about all terrain types, and even includes a tight and steep concrete spiral “S”. This is where you can loose control because on the incline portion you have to maintain just enough throttle to propel up and around the tight curves.

My Lectric XP, firstly practice, get the feel before hitting streets!! After stopping bike PAS is needed to kick motor in but once moving just the throttle can be used until stopping again. Problem is peddling up hill, heavy damn thing, so point the bike downhill, PAS to kick in motor then throttle U-turn around up hill. Really fun way to get around, great product so far.

I have a Lectric XP 2.0, I understand the PAS levels & Throttle ok. I need to understand how to change the Bike Settings controls, A Few I might adjust after I learn How.

Wait so my bike doesn’t go on throttle unless it’s on pas 1? And I notice at pas 1 2 and 3 o hardly get any speed at all. It’s quite difficult to pedal and doesn’t gain speed unless I’m using both throttle and pedaling until I hit 4 or 5 ? Now mind you my battery was defective and currently waiting on the new one… but is this even normal

So I have bad knees from jumps on dirt bikes...I want to ride my Lectric (I don't have it yet) as more of a motorcycle. Meaning using mostly throttle. What gear would I want to be in and what should I set the display as?

Hi I just got my bike used so I didn’t have all the settings on default. My throttle wouldn’t work unless I pedaled a bit first after a complete stop. I changed p9 to 1 so the throttle works now.l from a complete stop. Do you use that setting on or off? Main concern is being at a stop sign or a red light and wanting to take off quick

Great to have a clean look at how this bike works. I'm wondering how it is as just a bicycle.. does it feel like a tank riding it with no assist?

Does it matter what gear you’re in? If you’re in pas 4 and first gear are you going to get 20 miles per hour with an easy cadence of do you have to change gear up to 7th?

what pas mode should bike be in if I just want to use throttle? Or should bike just be on?

So on fairly level ground..do you just leave the gear selection set to 6 or 7 (and leave it there?)...seems the gear shifter on such a powerful bike is kind of overkill for most riders. I'd prefer to not have to use it that much.

So how’s the PAS work with the Shimano gearing ? I guess I don’t really understand. You have the PAS along with the gears. Are they separate, do they work together, do you ever need to switch gears, or can u just adjust the PAS as you want to go faster ?
