Thanks for the presentation.... I've had my worms going now for a bout 3 months on 3 tier system that i bought from my local hardware store... different but same. Ive watched so many different videos on this and i can happily say you have explained this so well..others get to bit complicated in with what to add etc but you have explained plain and simple..i was cutting ✂️ my newspaper in tiny little pieces but this way is so much better..ill still use the tinier pieces but also like how you have done. Okay off to check ny worms and my compost bin and thank you so much gor this step by step video. Cheers 👍🇦🇺🙂🦘

My opinion is to have the lid on as long as there are holes somewhere along the side for air flow. The reason I say this is in case it rains, they’re not getting flooded or soaked from too much water.

Thank you so much for this video. I have just started 2 worm bins. I got my red wrigglers from a 80 year old worm farmer and pumpkin farmer. I am not sure how many he gave me. I think it was over 1 pound. That’s why the 2 bins. You have answered so many questions I still had. Thank you.

When you first get the worms do you have to moist the tub they come in?

I have the large 3 tier worm bin that I bought from you many years ago. Never had problems with it till a couple of years ago when we had to tent our house and had to move bin 5 ft away from house. Since then, no worms, so I decided to start small. Was looking at the 3 bucket method since it would be easier for me too carry and maintain. I got wine worms from a friend. I notice in another video you did that here in Hawai'i, they need to be hose down often. Can you explain about this? On the continent, n they keep cautioning about too much water. TYIA.

I noticed that if I freeze the food scraps and thaw before I feed ,the food is broken down partially which is easier for the worms to feed.

Great video! Could be edited a bit, but really helpful. It sounded like you used Shea Cloth for your bin blanket, correct? Could you provide a link to an example? I could not find this on google, which thinks instead I am looking for shade cloth...or is the latter what you use?
