That's nice! Keep it safe and aways with your foot on the rear brake. Try it with only the throttle and in the right RPM range, the MT07 has a lot of torque and will lift the front tyre of the ground with ease

I’ve had that happen a few times when pushing it on the highway. Will play around with that as well!

You focus a lot on the RPM but remember that how open your gas is also makes a big difference. 4,000 rpm at half gas is totally different to 4,000 rpm with the throttle open. Wheelies should happen when the throttle is in the process of rolling open, which is why you almost always see people increase gas as they release the clutch.

We need more videos like this. The guys teaching that already know how to wheelie is awesome but actually seeing someone progress is a better learning experience imho. I'm planning on doing a progression video on my Busa as well.

i have a mt07 2023 myself and dont try to clutch kick wheelie on the first gear thats gonna scare you! i pop wheelie without the clutch on the first gear. go on the second gear to clutch kick wheelie its gonna be a lot smooter and easier!

You're absolutely right! After a week of banging my head into a wall, I came to the same conclusion lol. I have since had this bike stolen, so havent been able to continue the path, but once I get more comfortable with my Street Triple, I will give it a go (different animal though)!

I did a little bit of a wheelie on my mt07 the other day. might have a bit more power as i have a moddified airbox, exhaust and a tune on it but it power wheelied (no clutch work) in second gear at 50km/h (~30 mph). Closed throttle complete and crack it open and lifted with ease.

I got it by day 4. At least the pull up. Just more confidence with the throttle is all. 🤣

Try 2nd gear about 50km/h (I believe its around 35mph), pulling the flutch is way smoother and less scary

I want to learn to do a wheelie but I am just too paranoid of damaging my bike, not to mention myself. I just got my Kawasaki Z650 too.

I'm on the same boat. Just drived home my MT 07 Pure from the dealer. I was doing a little ride with some friend and all of them pop wheelies with their 07 like is nothing, asked some advice and tried a bit but is harder than it look

I been hearing this alot, does disabling the abs effect wheelies though?

@@TheRiceRocketeer No it does not. ABS is for breaking only. Traction Control on the other hand, that would certainly affect it as it limits the power going to the rear wheel as soon as it detects loss of grip like you did during the first few tries. I don't think yours has traction control but I could be wrong. Remember to always cover your rear break, it will bring the front wheel back down if you feel its lifting too much. I've also been practicing.
