After discovering I actually do like motorbikes and getting my licence just a few months earlier, I quickly new that I preferred to ride away from the tarmac where possible. I saw a few problems with this. Firstly, I have no experience of riding a motorbike. Secondly, I don't know anyone who does who could help me to learn. Thirdly, I want to learn to ride dirt tracks, which I feel isn't something to do on your own, in case you get into trouble.
So, I headed off to beautiful Wales for a day with Yamaha Off-Road Experience, where I could start to learn the basics in a safe environment.
In spite of my initial fears I had an absolutely amazing experience and came away feeling a lot more confident, but fully aware that it takes hundreds, if not thousands of hours of practice to hone these skills.
The wonderful family team at Yamaha Off-Road Experience were incredible and I'm already excited to go back to further these new skills I'm learning.
I hope you enjoyed this video. If you did, let me know by giving me a thumbs up and if you want to see more, hit the subscribe button...it's FREE!!
If you'd like to, you can buy me a coffee here: www.buymeacoffee.com/projectm...
Book yourself on this fabulous day out here:

I love the comments I'm getting on the video's. I read every single one. Although I can't respond to them all I'll at least give you a thumbs up.
I'm starting to think I might like to organise some 'Meet Up' rides in the future.
Next up....I'll be updating you on what happened after I Moved out of the house back in early May. It wasn't what I expected, but it never is. I can tell you I haven't slept in a building since then.
If you want a free notification when I post my future videos, just click the little bell icon.
Thank you all so much for your words of encouragement and for subscribing. It means a lot to have you come along with me. It means I'm not doing it alone.

Fingers off those levers mate. Make the gear change, make the adjustment then fingers around the grips. You're riding the clutch for a lot of the time on that bike and that's no good for the bike, or for your control of the bike, temptation is to control speed with clutch engagement rather than throttle which can lead to unexpected wheelies and getting dumped off of the back if your throttle is set too high and you slip. Still, brill video! Been considering a course with these guys for a long time, might give them a shout!!

Love the vids, looks like a belting day out in all weathers. Made up to see a non biker converted. Be careful with your clutch, you've got it 50% in for a lot of your ride!

That looked like a cracking day out and at least you got a couple of falls in without causing any damage - at least you know how much you can push it before you get your crf out in the wild.

Brilliant video. I'm doing the Honda Off Road experience this Thursday and Friday. And yeah, shitting myself. I'm going with a mate and his mate. My mate is an IAM Instructor and has been riding for decades, his mate has been riding for decades. I've been riding for about 1.5 years (late starter like you). I ride a G310GS, and we're going to be riding Africa Twins, so a massive step up. GULP!

I raced 450’s from age 13-19 but never did enduro in woods like this, I’m not far from wales so I might go on a little camping trip and go to this place haha it seems awesome. I’m 32 now so not as agile as I was back then 😂

Hey Nigel, how’s it going? I notice that the frequency of your videos has slowed down a bit but I know they’re more work to do than the end result would suggest. I get where your head was when you started the whole living in a van thing but, how is it looking now? I’ve been there and for me it all started to feel a bit turd after 10 months or so. It’s tough reaching that ‘I’m invisible’ age but we both know you can’t do this for the next 40 years potentially. Out of interest, what was the business you had and why did you feel the need to Jack it in? Take it easy 👍
