I like a challenge but I think I've bitten off more than I can chew this time.
Also, I reveal my new bike and show you how it's going to fit in the campervan (in theory) and the full campervan design.

instead of putting a log burning stove in the van ,but a chinese diesel heater , i have one in my workshop ,it,s brilliant ,and you can run it on red diesel ,because it,s being used for domestic heating . it so compact it will take way less space that log burner ,plus you can regulate the temperature much easier . :)

As a biker, I love that you've gone from not liking/caring about bikes to doing your full test, to now completely changing your lifestyle and van to accommodate. It happens the best of us. Before you know it you'll have 3 helmets, full leathers, multiple pairs of boots, lower halfs and a hundred different jackets. You'll be the biker mate, uncle, colleague and everyone will think you're crazy/obsessed until they give it a go 🤣

Gunna use a lot of valuable space putting the bike in the van. Better off getting a transporter rack rather than a trailer. The bike goes on the back of the van sideways.

Yep. That view coming down past the Dog & Gun relieved me of the day's stress as I commuted home from Bradford to Oxenhope. Sadly don't live there anymore as I embarked on my own mid life crisis!

M8 , I’ve just watched your videos and can so much relate to them , I had just turned 52 when I decided to get my CBT and quickly move on to my test and big bike , everything you have said in your videos is so true , from CBT to big bike , the fact you said your parents weren’t keen on you getting a bike hit home with me lol Going from apprehension , not understanding the freedom and then to go to having so much fun and enjoyment / FREEDOM . You are spot on ! I’m sure this hits home with a lot of us middle aged / young bikers . Keep making your videos 👍

Totally hear you on the "stuff" thing. When I moved to a new place on my own , 3 years ago I've still got "stuff" I neither use or want and I've only just started to get rid, cos I'm not moving it all again to sit in boxes in cupboards 😂 Surprised at your new bike, didn't see that style choice coming but thats the great thing about it all, individuality. Hope you managed to get sorted before the May deadline that's already passed as I write this comment 🤞

Just come across your videos and they are great. 16-18 i was on bikes but moved to a car, really wish i followed on with doing my test. Watching these makes me want to get it done! At 36 I've got the urge again. Use to ride around those same roads.

Best of luck to you for the next 2 months . I’m about to built the bed in my van after taking an age carpeting and insulating. Maybe I’ll follow your deadline and I’ll get my finger out. You , like me are very lucky to have a parent still around ( I’m 56 and my Old man is 88) and fit enough for a run in the van , nice one !

Well this was a nice surprise find on KZfaq..just watched the one on CBT and your introduction to bikes. I never had an interest until I retired and took my test at 57 years old..Have had 5 bikes since then..that was March 2020 . Love my cruiser and now I'm looking at a van conversion for playing and travel around Ireland (my place)..I see you also play a bit too.. give us a tune ..loving this vlog.

I think you bought the perfect bike there...excellent on fuel easy to maintain cheap to insure with Honda world renown reliability motorway speeds go anywhere adventure bike..put a large rucksack on your back get bout ten days food shopping on the bike..its what I do..enjoy it..keep us involved with how you get on with the bike..all the best.

I guessed the bike to be a Royal Enfield Classic 350 but the CRF300 is a great choice. When I passed my test in 2003, I bought a Honda CB600FS Hornet. I had this bike until last year when it was stolen. I remember when I first got it, it was like riding a rocket ship, lol. But over the years it became a part of me and only came off it once last year. Still hurts now. I live in Slawit in Huddersfield so a lot of the countryside you ride in looks just like around here. When is the next vid coming out??

I wear the same helmet your motorcycle police use. Shoei Neotech II It's a modular that can take comms and headsets and are able to be customized for the Police. But so quiet! And the highest comfort rating as they can be custom fit for your head. Mine cost me AU$1,090.00 which is 590 pound sterling (without custom fittings).

IMHO a gr8 decision to choose a honda for the reliability especially off-road, & although i personally wouldnt get an adventure bike i'm sure you had a look around before deciding it was for you so i'll follow your vids with interest :). btw i went past leeming reservoir yesterday on my way up through laneshaw bridge, then onto garstang & trough of bowland seeing as it was such a nice day, lovely countryside as you say and pretty quiet, perfect for an all day tootle around. GL

How does motorbike insurance work with you living in a van? what do you tell them when they ask where the bike is stored?

That's a very good question. I certainly made life difficult for myself. In the end, to cut a long story short, I have an address where myself and the bike are registered.

My landlord keeps putting the rent up, so im in the process of renovating 'Wilma' T2'5, 1600 turbo deisel, original, no pop-top, Yellow. ! My timescale is more than 7 weeks till i move out, but last time he wanted to put the rent up, i reminded him that in UK, he must by law, give me 6 months notice of any rent increases. I told my landlord this, and he obliged. SO i have three months left before he starts texting me with bullshit. Wilma is at Hilltop Garage in Allerton, and ill be there in Jan working on it innit mush! Love ya program. Love to ya mum she looks xXXBjuudifullXXx

Hey fellow Bradfordian, I love living in the van (the Vivaro at the moment) and would really hate to be stuck back in a fixed house again. It was weird for the first month, thinking where to stay each evening, but now I don't give it any thought until I'm ready to settle down for the evening. I purposely avoided campsites during the transition and now I really wouldn't bother with one, unless I was visiting a touristy city and wanted the van to be secure while I'm off sightseeing. Two essentials for Wilma; a Chinese diesel heater and a window vacuum. I'm still in the area so if you need any help/tips, give me a shout. Happy travels 😀

The window Vaccum is on my christmas list. However? Condesation occures mainly due to incorrect insulation. Vans are designed to be working vehicles, so insulating the walls traps condensation and will rust inside the framework. My Idea, is to use the same material you used, and make a tent to go over the whole van, Thus creating an airgap between the steel and outside, which forces the warm air into the van and have a carbon-core heat exchanger, to recirculate the air inside the van , thusly, you have warm fresh air . Powered with wind or water if your near a stream? A farmer in Denholm owns 60 acres of land, lives in a caravan on his own land. Nice to be Nomadic tho, im looking forward to it , inspired by you thank you. @@projectmidlifecrisis

Will do. Starting a new job on monday, only three days for Carlo de Medicci , He was the one who showed me your videos, then i showed them to my girlfriend, who has ADHD, but still watched three of your videos, and thought they were very well done. SInging songs around a campfire , lots of wild saunas n plunge pools, sailing , wild boar hunting, concerts , beers n much more. Follow Wilma to Sweden next summer. lol. Imma camp in Kungälv n work for cash like n immigrant! @@projectmidlifecrisis

Necessity is the mother of motivation, so probably a good decision I reckon. And if your helmet is really loud, you should be careful with that because the wind can actually damage your hearing pretty easily. I've heard some people wear ear plugs, not to fully block sound but there's different types that dull it slightly.

Hi. Not sure about your choice of bike BUT I think that you should have made a video about the bike selection and then you going to get the bike ? So it appears that you have now gone to loive in yiur van FULL TIME so where are you off to first and what changes ( good,bad ) have you experienced in the first few weeks/months of you new life ?

Hi Harry, time will tell. I was hoping to do a video just about the bike but things got hectic 😁 I haven't planned as far ahead as what I'm doing when I move in the van, other than that there's so much of the UK I haven't seen yet and summer is just around the corner.

So i am now 63 and on St Georges day i will. be 64. i reetired firm the 9-5 last October and i tend to follow various people like oyurself who have changed their lives radically , some of which now live in vans and some in other types of accomodation. My interest in this is not that i want to join them or do the same ( as I dont ) my interest is how they got to this point, made a chabge and then what follows. People turn to vanlife for all different types of reasons, some good and some bad. The UK is a beautiful place and i love to travel to all parts of the country as and when I can. Scotland is a great place and i wish you all of the best on yiour travels. please keep vlogging. I also have 2 motorcycles ( both 125's ) and like yourself i am embarking on getting through my bike test , hopefully in the next 3 months but if not , then longer. Stay safe, regards :-)

It's good to have you with me Harry. Good luck on your test. You could just do the CBT if you're only riding 125's, but you'll probably find a bigger bike is easier to ride.

@@projectmidlifecrisis Hi. I did my CBT last July and i now think that I need to do my test () again) . I tried to pass 11 years ago but gave it all up when I failed on a technicality. I hgave ridden literally 100,000 miles on a bike ( or two , or three ) and think that now at 63 that its about time I jolly well passed my test. Once pasdses i can then start to examine what is out there but my initial feelings are a 600 Bandit ... but you never know. When is your next video to be released ?
