I have a question about the adult writing the word for the child to "read their mind". For a word "bucket" would you spell it correctly or as "bucet"/"buket"? Or for the word "elephant" as in the previous, would you as an adult spell it correctly or as "elefunt"?

Maybe start with short vowels, then when the kid masters those words, add longer words, after that step add double O, E, th, ck, ch, sh etc. check any phonics books for kids that are learning English as a foreign language. Maybe you can implement those kind of materials in the Montessori environment
