I have a question about the adult writing the word for the child to "read their mind". For a word "bucket" would you spell it correctly or as "bucet"/"buket"? Or for the word "elephant" as in the previous, would you as an adult spell it correctly or as "elefunt"?

Maybe start with short vowels, then when the kid masters those words, add longer words, after that step add double O, E, th, ck, ch, sh etc. check any phonics books for kids that are learning English as a foreign language. Maybe you can implement those kind of materials in the Montessori environment

Just wonderful! I firmly believe that what u teach is what's best for our children. Every child is your child because every choice made effects/affects everyone. Children like freedom and they tend to cooperate more when they have it.

I'm so interested in Montessori schooling. My finances however prevent that. Watching these vids n researching I implement what I learn in my everyday interaction and lessons with my toddler. This is great! Thank u:-)

Beautiful explanation! What sense it makes to have a 'learning' system for children that stimulates the rest of the family to grow, too! Thanks to Tatjana for sharing this perspective.

Nice presentation, but I thought the idea of place value could have been stressed more; you could have noted that when you were adding at the end, you moved the beads diagonally in order to keep the place value. By the way, you are SO cute!

I send both my boys to a montessori school. I couldn't be happier. I looked for an alternative education so my children didn't go through what I did. I clearly remember how I felt very smart before I started school. My first experience of feeling inadequate was in the first year. By the time I left school I felt like there was something wrong with me. That I was stupid and I couldn't read very well. This followed me through to my adult years.

Montessori absolutely ROCKS! I have been a Montessori teacher for almost 20 years, and the children continuously AMAZE me. Intelligence is not rare! I have taught children from every socioeconomic background. "Every child is humanity's chance to get it right." In our classrooms, we believe this to be true, and know that children grow up to become the adults of tomorrow. We try to give them the support and the resources they will need to be successful, happy and healthy adults.
