Learning To Sail with Disability Charity SEAS Sailability - My First Time Sailing

This is the second time I have attended the disability charity SEAS Sailability, and I have now found something I love doing on the water, way more than anything else I have ever done up until this point in my life.
This time was the first time I have ever been sailing in my life, and it was absolutely superb. I have been on loads of speed boats before, canoes, kayaks etc, but I have never sailed.
I didn't get to do as much of it as I'd have liked, as I can't move away from my seat to move around the boat, but I did get to operate the tiller (steer), and control the jib with another wheelchair user on the boat with us. My daughter was also on board.
I loved changing direction, and catching some speed with the boat tipped right over. It was just fantastic!!
I don't really want to do much else on the water now except sail - well maybe kayak a bit with someone else, but sailing is where it's at for me now.

That's one thing I've never tried, I've done plenty of canoeing back in my youth but never had the opportunity to go in a sailboat, great footage too, thanks Emma takecare!😁💜✌

You should definitely have a go. I did it with another wheelchair user, my daughter, and a guy that was there to teach us and sail when we failed (also likely rescue us if we needed it). There was also a team on the pontoon to get us in and out of the boat. Superb experience though, really peaceful, calm and enjoyable! Thank you, you too.
