Way too much mullet. I cN tell they didnt give a fuck about people's houses back then. No water proofing bahahaha. What's up with using a tape to mark the pole? I use a brick ruler. I used a tape before. The existing house laid on 3 3/16. It was a bitch to mark so I checked it on the veneer? I laid the foundation on 3 and 3/16. I kept getting off after several courses. I had to mark 3 or 4 off at a time, because of that. When I got to the veneer I checked it and made it work out every few courses. God that was so much easier. My Forman over thinks and had me marking it with a tape and shit. ..no good... He didn't tie the peir and curtin wall with beick ever 6 courses. He told me to put fucking wall ties in it. It failed inspection. I had to take the piers down saw the brick out and rebuild them so they tied in. He ran the brick up past floor height. I asked him how they were going to flash it. Ended up tearing that down to. The damn vents wouldn't open. I told him and he said it didnt matter. Needles to say I had to saw that off and drop the vents down. He is still a Forman. Idk why our supervisor let's him keep his job. We did a foundation and he shot ever wall. I marked the height. Everyone of those walls were out of level. It fucked the peers up. I had to saw the tops of the peirs and add a block...to everyone. Over 40 piers. A week later we were building Kevin Harvicks house. He got the back wall 2 inches low, he shot the damn wall. He made me saw that out and after I got everything ready to fix he came over there and tried to lay. This dude is late every day, he doesn't work... last week we ran columns up for a privacy fence. It had a radius rake. He went and built a fucking form. It looked all fucked up. Me and my dad built the other side with a level. We had the shit finished before he got the form on. Then made us set scaffold up on the back side of the wall, full of poison oak. I got moved to another crew thank goodness. However our crew went out of town Nd me and my dad didnt want to go. We got put with my old Forman. His laborer gets by with being lazy while he dogged me and my dad. Dude wouldn't shake mud up. He would give us old mud in our pants before shaking it up. Me and my dad had to stack out all our material and everything. He had all week to cleanup the job and didnt. It looked like someone dropped a bomb on our job. I had to clean the job up.

Story Poles have been around since the great Pyramids of Egypt were constructed.. They used Story Poles.. INTERESTING FACT.. Still Standing Today. & Hyper Accuracy in the laying of masonry units!

getAMCI If you look close there are wall ties. As for the waterproof wrapping it really should have had it, but back it the 80's when this was filmed it wasn't required.

Your right its not that hard, this just makes it a faster and more stream lined process so you don't have to constantly build a lead. You mark the pole and use a line block and line and smack those suckers in and get your job done a lot faster.

The poles allow masons in the same time to lay 10 bricks to each 2 laid with the the leads..{ corners } That's 80% faster!

I disagree. Story poles make a huge difference. Much, much faster than building leads.

I like speed leeds, we just have to not to forget that wall's tend to fall out slightly.
