Today's video is about a different style of illustration. I wanted to do an isometric section with this playful mood. Using lots of patterns and a nice color pallete. The image reference from this video is amazing and very detailed, you should definetly check it out!

Here are the colors hex codes used in this video:
Before adjust the colors:
Cyan/Blue: 7ab0c1
Yellow: ecdbad
Red: d9565b
Green: eefae0
Gray: eefae0
After the image was done I used the plugin Camera Raw that comes with photoshop to shift the hue of the cyan to more of a blue tint.

This is so useful. I use your lessons not for architecture but for visualising systems on a more abstract level. The industrian design 3D look really helps with making it appear more tangible to people.

I've been looking for tutorials on these types of illustrations for years now and I think this might be one of the best tutorials for post digital architectural presentation out there!! Also, can i give a suggestion. How about a "from start to finish series" going through a project, from it's beginning to end including modeling and diagrams and ending with presentation boards. I think it would be really cool and would engage the viewers more.

Obrigado!!! Ultimamente uso mais o Photoshop, mas são ferramentas diferentes pra resultados distintos. Illustrator trabalha com vetores, então é melhor pra esquemas, diagramas, mapas, ilustrações que trabalham muito com a espessura de linha, e até mesmo essa imagem do vídeo seria melhor ter feito no illustrator. Mas como o pessoal usa mais Photoshop, acabo fazendo nele pra atingir um público maior. O que na verdade gosto de fazer é usar os dois ao mesmo tempo, linkados. Da uma olhada no vídeo do esquema em sequência, lá eu uso essa técnica! Espero ter ajudado 😀

where did you take the model from? if its revit i can not take this kind of isometric section. mine is not 30 degree its 45 degree and i can not put isometric vector people etc in my model. Could you tell how you take this isometric view?. in my model. Thanks for the tutroial btw!

Hi Kadirhan, I used Sketchup to take the 30 degree isometric. I'm not sure how you do it in Revit, I only know in Archicad and Sketchup. But yes, I use the 30 degrees because then on photoshop or illustrator you can put objects in isometric too. Usually people there's no need to transform them. As they will fit in almost any perspective if they are in front view.
