Thank you very much for creating this type of content on YT! I was so anxious about all the softwares that an Architecture student should know before watching your videos. This was mainly because I couldn’t understand how they worked and how I could create amazing images using them. I have just started my second year and to be fair, finding your channel has really enabled me to dare to work with some of these amazing tools, like Photoshop and Illustrator! So, once again, thanks a lot, mate; and because of your dedication to this, I have already made up my mind that I want to support you and the channel! ☺️

This question might be out of topic, does sketchup really your main modelling software ? In the last video you used archicad for modelling and sketchup only for visualization. What do you think about archicad ? Is it better than revit ? Cuz i need to choose one of them to learn my first bim software
@LearnUpstairs3 жыл бұрын
I see Sketchup and Archicad very differently. I use Archicad for all documentation process when the project is on its way and I have to start to refine dimensions. I like to use Sketchup for more conceptual work because it has an easier workflow. A BIM software has a few constraints when starting a file that can end up limiting yourself when trying out ideas. That's not a rule though. Sometimes I start directly in Archicad and go from there all the way to the end. And sometimes I start on SketchUp, create the images there, once it gets approved, I'll move on to BIM. I'd suggest learning the BIM software that is most used where you live. That's more likely to help you out when applying for a job or internship. I've tried both, Revit and Archicad. And I preferred Archicad because it's less "rigid" and it feels a bit more curated for Architects. But that's just my personal opinion. 😉 I hope that helps you out.
@CogitoErgoSumFortis3 жыл бұрын
@@LearnUpstairs I totally agree!!! I've had a similar experience with Revit and Archicad, except that for me I'm more of a 'hands on' person while sketching, so i like drawing on Canson papers and using cardboard (or any recycled material) models to grasp the idea, then I move it to Archicad.
@CogitoErgoSumFortis3 жыл бұрын
I'd recommend you to learn both :/ I know time is still limited, but what I'd do if I could go back in time, I'd start out with Revit since it's the most complex of the bunch, besides it being the program used in most construction firms, and it's a great bridge between architects and civil engineers. Also, Archicad is very intuitive, so I'm pretty sure you'll get the hand of it pretty quickly, while Revit is harder and more technical, so the more time you get to learn, the better you'll become towards the end of your degree and the easier will it be to integrate all of the programmes. (for example, I've still failed to figured out how to do installations and infrastructure in archicad, something vital for your last projects)

Hey love your content! Question though.. how do you paste these trees in different oppacities while keeping them in the same layer?
@LearnUpstairs3 жыл бұрын
Hey Sena, thanks a lot for the feedback. When using the brush tool, change the brush opacity between clicks to change how transparent the tree will be. That way you maintain the layer at 100% opacity, but use the brush opacity to create that contrast. A good tip I can give you is to use the numbers on the top of your keyboard, with the brush tool enabled, to quickly change the brush opacity. I hope that helps you out!
