In this video I am making a leather edge slicker. I am also trying to test out materials to see which one I prefer out of UHMW, Bocote Wood and Black Delrin.

Nice one mate, watching the metal being cut on the lathe is coolness...yeah it’s the small things in life that I find cool..lol The finished product was outstanding.

That's pretty slick, mate! Sorry...that was bad... I really do like the slicker though...I've just gotten back into some leather work and made a slicker out of walnut...but, it's no where near as nice as that.

what kind of lathe are you using?

Its a grizzly metal lathe. 13"x40"

@@HighCaliberCraftsman were you using it to turn wood as well? Or can it also be used to turn wood? Or am I now looking at purchasing 2 lathes.

@@lokiwolfwood7942 yes you can. It’s not perfect because typically the rpms don’t go as high but you can definitely can do it. Make sure to clean it up after so it doesn’t rust the ways.
