Leave The World Behind Honest Review: Big waste of time as far as entertainment, but, good to warn viewers about something big that may happen to the world... cliff hangers are no good at all for rewatch... you should want your viewers to watch your movies again, again and again if its good... cliff hanger movies never get revisited again ... the director shots were amazing because it was the director from Mr Robot, there were a ton of references to Mr Robot in the movie. A better alternative to this movie is Red Dawn.

Movie was so realistic that any moment this could happen. without any communication on what’s going on. You can bet the first response as Americans is to panic. Because this country isn’t built on faith no more. Once I heard “the Russians called their agents back” I knew the plot right away. All our enemies we’ve created have finally retaliated and brought it on our soil.

It isn’t from Obama. It’s his production company, but he had LITTLE to do with the plot, etc, characters were selected by him & I think he did a great job in choice. Julia & Ethan? Perfect combo. They’ve done tons of weird movies like this. It fit. No, Obama didn’t select Elon because he was easy to target with Tesla, it was all about ALL THE TECHNOLOGY going wild. No matter what the brand. Tesla’s are just more common in the USA, & that’s basically where our characters were at. So…yeah, I just don’t buy the whole lies they’re telling us by saying “it isn’t because it’s Obama’s” - but it IS though. It has hardly any likes or traction, despite being one of the better movies out right now.

i feel that this viewer feels this way because there are two kinds of people, people who will watch and not think about it again but just be pissed off at the ending, or someone who will genuinely want to understand why the director included what they did or why they made it end this way. taking the time to truly get the deeper meaning helps you appreciate the film and everything in the movie is in there for a purpose. the scene where archie is taking pictures of ruth and jerking off to her is even important; people will do anything in horrible times just to feel some type of emotion. this applies to the scene where amanda and george dance too, because we know that amanda's husband is well and alive and george's wife is most likely dead by now. anyway, my point is if you take the time and truly understand why everything happened the way it did, the film is amazing and i'd really consider looking into the ending deeper. if needed tho i'll explain what i feel the ending meant!

Like wow cool you can point at and tell the audience about the things that are and might happen in the world but don’t have anything else to say about it. I like the concept that they use to over throw the country, but I do not think the US or its people are that weak for us to turn on each other that quickly. It wouldn't be rational. I think panic would happen but people just mindlessly killing each other doesnt make sense. It would make more sense to team up and stick with people you know, but just be catious.

I thought it was crap…i gave it a 3/10 and thats generous, only because it had ethan hawke, kevin bacon and Mahershala Ali.. julia didnt pull this off for me. The daughter going on about the friend’s show was boring and the ending was major let down! The casting of the kids was off, the 2 children looked nothing like their parents. The on screen chemistry between julia and Mahershala’s daughter was non existent, felt off in every-way! The comments about not trusting white people was distasteful..The whole film was suspense but not in a good way 2 hours in you still dont know what was going on. Finally got to the end after 2+ hours left me feeling duped. It is 2+ hours of suspense. The end. Would never watch again.

I didn’t care for it very much. I think it had a lot of potential to have been a really good movie, but ‘my problem’ with it was, 1. Too long. It wasn’t necessary to have been such a long movie. They could have easily cut 35 minutes from it. 2. They didn’t answer some important questions at the end, (which I felt were a necessary,)but apparently the film director and producers, Obama’s, Roberts, and a couple others, didn’t think it mattered. I give the movie a B- / C+

I think they purposely left so much to the imagination because the director knew we would care about the characters. Let me explain. I see rose as a symbol for the american people in relation to her brother as the government. Rose mentions to her brother “no one ever listens to me” and he responds nonchalantly with “yea, you might be right” showing acknowledgment of the fact yet feeling no remorse. When the brothers teeth start falling out it shows the government that neglected its own citizens crumbling. As a result the sister (american citizens) has a fuck it moment and finally decides to do what she needs to do. If we didnt relate to the characters or feel a sense of fear to the potential of this happening in real life given the current world climate; we wouldnt want to know what happened at the end so bad. This maybe a fictional storyline but this could very well be a reality in the next 10-30 years….

This movie was written by someone severely suffering from ADHD. I don’t have enough fingers to count the introductions of ideas that lead to nowhere. I was kinda infuriated that there were suspenseful well directed parts that just lead to nothing more. Really surprised some well known names would have jumped into this pointless project.

Did not find it one bit scary Nor did it make me feel some type of deep emotion. It’s a big NO for me.

My interpretation was that all the strange animal behaviour stemmed from their natural enhanced senses picking up on things humans couldn't. For example they might have heard other high pitched noises humans couldn't and all ran off together from where they'd normally graze. I think they surrounded the girl just because they were all unnaturally together and anxious. 😮

Don't even consider watching this movie!!!!! Horrible movie. If I could leave zero stars I would. I would say the Obama’s should stick to politics but unfortunately I can’t say that either. Regardless, this review sums it up very well: Zero stars needs to be an option. One reviewer posted an excellent review of this movie, so I had to copy and paste. "If you care about using your time wisely, then avoid this film like the plague. But if you like watching terribly written media, then by all means grab a snack and relax. Because this film is the embodiment of utter garbage. The first, and to me, the greatest red flag is seeing the Obamas as executive producers. The movie just changed far too many times, giving you more questions than answers. Family on the beach, a supposed home invasion, planes crashing, a brat obsessed with Friends, hackers start the end of the world, animals migrate for no apparent reason, son is poisoned by radiation yet no one else is and not to mention the blatant racial themes etc. Just a heaping mess of a pile. None of the characters are developed and slowly turn against each other. Situations like these would bring you together, not force you apart. You’d come to hate a few others, such as the daughter who treats Friends like a god and the other daughter, Ruth, who not only has a spoiled attitude but she assumes things on everyone and also believes you should never trust white people. I wish I were joking. And I quote: "I'm asking for you to remember that if the world falls apart, trust should not be doled out easily to anyone, especially white people." This had no relevance to the film at all! If this statement was flipped around, watch how things would go. I guess her name “Ruth” is short for ruthless. Because she did not act nice to anyone, not even her own father at times. If they removed her from the script, it would have made this film somewhat better. But not enough to save it. But the fact this made it through production baffles me. Then again, remind yourself of who the executive producers were. As for the “terrorist” act itself, it just isn’t clear which nation is the main driving force of it all. First some Arabic country to then either Korea or China. No idea because this is never answered. Nor were a lot of things. Where was the military? The actual forces of the nation. Apparently they do not exist, so everyone has to fend for themselves. Granted we do live in a technological world, but planes wouldn’t be crashing nor boats intentionally grounding themselves if everything was hacked. Analog exists. Pilots can still operate a plane without working apparatus etc. I’d go on but other reviews capture the level of frustration this “movie” brings the table. It’s bad. At least the daughter got to watch the last episode of Friends, after running off with neither brains nor brawn. Ate a large supply of food and somehow, found a VHS tape that oh so conveniently had Friends. Leaving her family to die. I wonder what she’ll think after the episode is over. Probably happiness, not a care for her family, as a show takes more priority than the end of the world." If I could give this movie a rating less than one star I would!!!
