Hello, would you recommend defining cultural context before tackling the question or directly responding to the question to begin, then developing and expanding on my thoughts more after? I ask because I plan to learn off an intro detailing the film and novels ive covered and the cultural context definition you used might also be useful.

Hi Shane, I'd always focus on the question as much as possible. Directly respond to the question first. I wouldn't worry about defining cultural context as you'll be able to show that you understand it through the content of your answer.

Is it better to talk about one text in a paragraph then link to the other text in a new paragraph or is it better to constantly contrast between the two texts on a factor of Cultural Context and the make a new paragraph for a different factor?

Hi Ciaran. I would definitely discuss both texts in each paragraph on the point of cultural context that you've chosen

Is it helpful from an examiners viewpoint if you clearly state what aspect of the cultural context you are going to discuss even if you may hint at other aspects throughout a paragraph or would you say it is easier to just have an intro stating all the aspects to be discussed ?

Yes but don’t do it like this “ :gender : “ do it like this say “ now I will talk about the aspect of gender make it flow basically but in a way it’s clear
