Welcome to the Letterman KZfaq Channel, home to all your favorite clips from Late Night and Late Show - as well as conversations with the writers, producers and performers who helped make it all happen. The language may strike you as quaint & flowery, the clothing comically lacey & ornate - but that’s how things were back in this colorful and now bygone era.

I was sincerely heartbroken when Dave retired. His honesty, humour, zaniness and heartfelt love for his place in show business made him the very last of his kind. He and the creativity of his writers and producers gave us a whole different take on what being funny was by including complete strangers. He created a genre that nobody has or will ever replicate. Kudos to a phenomenal entertainer who heart matched his talent. SOOOOO missed

I met Norm a couple week's after that final appearance on Letterman. I'd gotten a job as a door guy at a comedy club in san francisco part time just to meet some of my idols and when Norm finally came thru I went to all his shows that weekend. After the last I finally got to say hi and spent 10 of the most memorable minutes of my life with the man. I'd heard him since the appearance say somewhere he felt embarrassed by what he said to Dave because it wasn't planned, but felt and inspired in the moment. He isn't prone to emotion so he feared he overstepped a boundary perhaps, but when I met him I mentioned that appearance and thanked him for saying he loved Dave because he spoke for I and millions of us who couldn't be there. He was very gracious and I took that opportunity to mention that, very similarly, millions of people felt the same way about Norm and revered him the same way. He smiled and gave me a hug and we chatted a few more minutes. Got his phone number somehow that night too. Never called it of course, but always hoped to earn the right. Thanks for everything Norm. We all love you.

One of the sweetest, most loyal, funniest gentlemen I grew up watching. From my teens to my 30’s, David Letterman was a mainstay. Friends came and went, but every night at 11:35pm, David Letterman was there. And I loved him.

And loyal staff members too. You know someone is a good person if people work for them for 30 years, especially in an industry like show business. Thinking about the last WAG strike and how Dave and his World Wide Pants, were the first people to make a deal with the writers, so that they get paid what they deserve.

This was great, thanks. Oh man, it was eight years ago already? A living gift is that we have this channel, it's still hilarious, and we have the Barbara Gaines Show in a basement lobby somewhere. And sometimes, guys like Seth Meyers can be ridiculous and idiotic and remind us the sparks of the spirit are still out there. I miss seeing Dave and the whole crew every night, but the laughter gives me hope for the future. I don't know how, but it just does.

We got tickets in the mail and could only afford bus transportation. It was quite the adventure and made for some wonderful memories! Thanks Dave! I was thrilled to see you live. We had great seats. Center and 3 rows from stage. Very cold in studio and loud band music!!! Loved it!❤❤❤

Outstanding! Everyone has a different angle of viewing, but we all felt the importance of the conclusion of Dave's show. The montage with Foo Fighters is a moment of television that will be remembered for a very long time. Every emotion packed into just a handful of minutes. It hit all the long time fans as hard as I'm sure Barbara and everyone hoped it would. ❤

This is the video I was hoping since the show ended. Thank you for making it and for releasing it on this channel… I didn’t know it’s been out there for 7 years apparently. This show has meant so much to me over all these years, and not just because of Dave but because you could see how much heart everyone on the team put into it. I have no idea who the producers are on any other show I've liked, or who the writers are. But I know who Barbara Gaines is, and who Bill Scheft is, and all the others in this video, and I have the highest respect for their work.

I can't believe it's been 8 years already since the last show. I remember the last few months of Dave's show were some of the best...great guests and many great moments. The final show on May 20, 2015 was the single best finale of any show I've ever watched. Shed lots of tears that night. I felt I lost an important piece of my life that night as I've watched Dave since his guest-hosting for Carson days in the late '70s.

I forgot that Barbara made the montage, which I admit made me cry happy tears. All those memories of happy times! Part of the joy was to think of a local kid (to Indianapolis, anyway) making good (in truth, great). He did it on raw talent, drive, and neuroticism (a trait I sympathize with). He gave my generation (late Boomer) a place to laugh at humor that wasn't as jokey as our parents' was. And it gave his fans a great deal of fun when we spoke about what happened the night before on the show. Dave, you always seem to downplay your contribution. Please don't. Sure, you didn't cure cancer: no one has done that yet. But lasting happiness contributes so much to even one person. You have given that to millions. That's a major contribution to the world. Please enjoy it as much as we do.

I was lucky enough to have attended a show, and it was incredible. The level of energy it took to complete one show is hard to put into words. During commercial breaks the team would swarm David's desk, and he was straight-armed doing his best to attempt to stay in his "zone". IMO, there is Johnny, and then David. I don't consider there to be a close third.

MY COMMENT will unfortunately be lost here among all these others, but I'll write this anyway. This vid is wonderful. It's terrifically interesting listening to these Late Show Creatives. The only thing lacking... ANOTHER 50 MINUTES MORE of all these Creatives! This could have and should be an hour long (at least) presentation, aired on one of the Networks/Cablers/Streamers. Alongside Dave's Interview presentations, maybe. Still possible? There's obviously a whole lot more to be remembered and said. But THANK YOU for this vid, definitely!
