I left the pigeons for 7 days and hopefully return to find they're all okay. The birds haven't flown since the hawk attack and I add another 4 beauties to the young bird team that have been gifted to me from Colin, another flyer in my club.

Hi just an old little tip for you regarding when your bird's are moulting or on darkness. It will help you by not having to change your litter because of the feathers. Put a cardboard box in a corner of your section with a hole in it like the old crisp boxes. Magically you will find all the feathers migrate into the box thus saving you on changing the litter and drinkers etc. Hope this helps you good luck with your bird's Regards Dave

@@howtotrainyourpigeon It works it's been used for decades ha ha I'll try to explain why it does and how to make. A Cardboard box is the easiest and cheapest but you could use plywood it's will last longer. The mechanism behind it is airflow, feathers always get stuck where the air comes into your loft at the bottom and feathers get stuck on the mesh because of the draw. It's the same principle. All you are doing is putting a small airflow inside the loft ie a box. So all you need to do is cut a couple of inch strip at the bottom of the box and the air draws the feathers into it. Thus saving mess on cleaning them up and money not having to change your floor dressing just for the feathers. Hope this makes sense and helps you Yours in sport Dave
