I started watching basketball in the mid 60s stopped in the early 2000s… watching these highlights, doesn’t begin to show you the talent that existed in the NBA, especially between the late 70s through the 1990s… today it’s just not the same game….. if you really wanna understand watch The whole game then you’ll understand why us old timers Don’t really care for today’s basketball….✌🏽☮️🤲🙏

I bet you the Vegas Odds on BirdMan getting that first 3 point contest was 1:1 odds!!! You don't win anything IF he wins! Everyone that even watched the NBA back then knew he would win it. Then in the 88 contest he was hurt, and I think had been hurting for a year or so; I think he retired shortly after that. Take a look at his highlights! Watch his 'situational awareness! His control! His ball handling! His percentage of field goals! Yeah he talked shiz! Yeah he'd tell you what he was going to do! Most importantly he did it and he KNEW he could! Think about this... Him and Jordan played for sometime, it was some of the biggest games to watch back in the day! Michael Jordan did contain him sometimes, not all the time.

A good video to watch is: 1988 Detroit Pistons "BAD BOYS" Documentary. I think you'll enjoy this as it shows the type of basketball we used to have. It was rough, tough, and brutal at times, but you saw passion for winning. This Detroit team was good; they played with heart and soul.

One fact that you guys haven’t come across yet, is that Larry Bird played his entire NBA career with an unrepairable injured shooting hand index finger. The finger is shaped much like a boomerang, permanently bent toward his thumb at a 45-degree angle. Two operations have failed to straighten it; he can bend it only halfway to his palm. The finger is clearly seen as he raises it in victory after letting go of the money ball in the 3pt shootout. He never had the same feel for the ball as he did in college after that injury.

My favorite clip wasn’t in this video. Charles Barkley has a story where Bird was complaining about being shown disrespect. Barkley goes ‘how you being disrespected?’ Bird goes ‘you’ve got a white guy out here covering me.’😂

MJ and LaChina never made the 50-40-90 club. MJ never beat Larry Bird in the playoffs. Larry took the second worst team to the second place team. Bird won his first NBA Championship in his second season of the NBA. MJ quote "I sorry you are retiring but you ruined a lot of my games.". MJ scored 63 points and lost.

Bird didn't practice or shoot the three all thru school the NBA added the three the year bird came into the NBA so imagine what a shooter he'd been if he grew up shooting the three like all the current NBA players? I mean he was a killer and better shooter than most today so if he'd grew up shooting threes he'd without a doubt he the greatest shooter of all time. Period.
