Led Zepp band members lived up to their fame, and was the icons of rock music. Yet, JPJ is the epitome of coolness, straight down to earth fella, and married to the same woman since 1967. One must have a very strong mindset and willpower to withstand all the temptations and glamour tht comes from being in a supergroup, more so Led Zepp.

Who said he did? Monogamy isn't the norm for everyone. Roger Daltrey of The Who has been married for 50 years and he said that he said to his wife all those years ago that he was in one of the most famous rock bands and he was not going to be monogamous.

It's amazing how wealthy these guys are and they don't license their music for commercial use. Very people have secured a license to use a LZ song. It's even further incredible that they also did not release singles. Talk about being true to your art.

I would love to see Zeppelin live as well as Sabbath. Those are the 2 bands that I never got to see out of all my favorite musicians. I’ve seen some amazing shows in my life but I really respect the guys in Zeppelin for not getting back together for the money. They are already wealthy but they have been offered millions to reunite and still refuse. True musicians that were in it to create the greatest rock music ever and not the almighty dollar.

@@Kashmir.820 That is the sadness that it brings me, so talented and so misguided. Aliester Crowley was a mysogoninist and a con man who believe the alternative truth he claimed. He reminds me of cultist politician who convinced people that he is a great business man, after beating all of his investors in bunkruptcies one after the other , looking at his daughter like a marinated steak. No names here. But all I can say is wow. Rory Gallagher toured for nearly 30 years and was unbelievable in talent. He just wasn’t a conman…. No fame for you!!! I wish at some point in time all would lay their cards on the table and the essential truths are revealed. James Michener wrote called The Novelist about two types of writer who knew each other. One wrote two books that were best sellers and he built this deviate belief that all writers should be judged by him and the other author wrote book after book constantly on the best seller list, constantly sighing books, research, research, which the great pop icon raged against his ilk. I always have to ask, is talent that falls into drugs and self indulgence and a self centered universe really better than the guy who goes along writing researching, developing characters and really puts the reader into that world. It made me wonder how we judge our heroes. Is the bar too low in one aspect and too high in another. It is a philosophical question mark to me.

I'll never understand how Page survived the Maddox relationship and come out of it unscathed...that could never survive under the scrutiny of today's times.
@johnsmits2494
@johnsmits2494 2 жыл бұрын
I think it helped enormously that at the time Zep was actually a underground band despite their success. Also hiding Maddox in the hotel rooms and having gangsters on the payroll scared any talkers. But overlooked despite the initial outrage is that it did end up looking like a real romance in the end. Tell it to a judge, but just 2 or 3 centuries earlier kings and lords in England often had very young wives or mistresses. Of course today forget about it, but Lori herself never regretted it. And Page hasn’t been pegged since then- someone is going to tell me even with the internet countless rock and movie stars haven’t boned a teen and tossed her anyway ? No excuse, and certainly not as common now, but context still matters.

"Page has acknowledged heavy recreational drug use in the 1970's" ---If you call heroin "recreational." Which was the principal reason why he became such a sloppy guitarist in the latter half of the 70s. Heroin basically ruined him. Listen to Page in 1969-70 and in 1979-80 and there was a stark difference both visually from the weight loss, the profuse sweating on stage and in his playing ability. Of course he denies it but that occurred..

Plant had a very successful solo career & Page/Plant toured w/o Jones in 95 & 98. 10 million is not enough money?
