Zeppelin--like so many other British rockers--were understandably enamored with American Blues music. This song is one of the most obvious examples of their love for the Blues. It has been said that Zeppelin were the 4 right people, who met at the right time. Page was a brilliant guitarist who had very distinct ideas about the band he wanted to form and the music he wanted to make. John Paul Jones was a totally underrated bassist and keyboardist--a seasoned session musician who was responsible for many of Zeppelin's greatest songs. John Bonham was the man who literally set the pace for the band, the drummer who was Zeppelin's "secret rhythm weapon", as one music writer once put it. And Robert Plant was the "Golden God"--the primal rock frontman who made all the women a bit crazy. Awesome reaction, Niah.

The coming in 1969, Robert had 19 years, in 1973...23-24. Jimi y Joncy 26 aprox. So young all !!. Bonzo died at 32 years, ten years after the band coming to play . This concert was in 1973 at that time Robert Plant was 24 almost 25. It was Their North American Tour, the footage was in Madison Square Garden. Later on, in 1976 they came out with a movie about them (same Footage) "The Song Remains The Same" Great stuff to say the least. Freeze on the police officer's face lol. Everyone was in shock the whole crowd. I'm 51 now and saw this when I was a kid I'm still like a kid watching it to this day. Oh, that guy named Jimmy Page was doing some Calypso fingerpicking style to Robert Plant's vocals towards the end, He is not your average Rock guitarist God. It made me pick up a guitar at a young age. If you were amazed at Plant and Page, John Paul Jones Keyboards and John Bonham's drumming is second to none. The complete package. I'm 50 now and since I discovered Zeppelin at the age of 9 in 1979/80 I've always felt the exact same feelings when I hear their music, in particular their live stuff. All my friends and I were devastated after hearing about the tragic death of their Drummer John Bonham in 1980. We continued to celebrate their musical genius by going down to a theatre in Toronto every weekend when we were like 14 years old to watch their movie called the Song Remains The Same and with a packed house smoke weed and lose ourselves in their imaginations. Led Zeppelin is what was and will always be, the best rock band ever. I love and appreciate your video Niah. Thanks for that. Great job! Helene here...not my husband at left. Just subbed if you’re going to do a Zeppelin journey. He is 24 or 25 in this video, depending on the month of this concert. this is 1973 and he was born August 20, 1948.....joined Zeppelin in July 1968 at age 19. His stage persona just oozed sex and charisma. He moved with power and grace....like a big cat. Even as he grew older, he still dominated the stage. He still sings with his band at 72......I was scheduled to see him in May, which of course was cancelled. I’m just hoping for another chance to see him. If you have not already done the live video of In My time of Dyin’ from Earl’s Court 1975, that should be your next one. If this type of vibe is what you are looking for, that song will deliver it for you. Fact: Robert Plant is a walking encyclopedia of classic American Delta and Chicago blues, as well as Americana/bluegrass Mountain Music. One of the best white interpreters of black American blues....along with Joe Cocker and Mick Jagger...in my opinion.

Niah, welcome to our world. I was fortunate enough to see Led Zeppelin when I was 16 years old. I will never forget that concert. Never. Over the years I've gotten heavily into jazz, and other types of music. But when I watch young people like you entering this world for the first time, it takes me back many years. This is my roots music. Thank you.

Hey,Robert plant was about early to mid twenties on this concert,I've had the great pleasure of swing him as a solo artist with various musicians in 20 odd ocasions, twice with Jimmy page,Jimmy pages Gibson double neck he had made cos it was only guitar he could play live the song remains the same, the rain song, and stairway,I'm a 65year old English guy n I just love her youthful enthusiasm for my fav band since I was 12,one last thing.a great read on zepp, hammer of the gods, tells all,as billy

Hi .. You must listen to the song Called "The Ocean " from the same concert from MSG . I was there way back in 1973 9th row orchestra. 16 years old then 64 now . No band comes close to The Mighty LED ZEPPELIN .

Always gotta give shout out to those who attended that Concert! What an experience of a lifetime! Saw it in the Theater in 1976...and a thousand times since then! And isn't it great that these kids are discovering all this GREAT music for the 1st time. They make me feel like I'm 14 all over again. Cheers! 🍒✌🍁✌

It's great but I think Gary Moore R.I.P. would have something to say about that with his LIVE version of " I've Still Got THe Blues For You" with 48 Million views for a good reason John :)

Saw them in 75 & 77 but they didn't play this in the 75 concert. I was fairly crushed but what they played instead was spectacular. I like the look on the cops face at about 7:20. He's stunned. Excellent reaction!
