Ledsi has a trained delivery in her vocals. That was indicative of Jean carn and other talented female RnB singers in the 70 and 80's. No gimicks nor bumping a grinding or exposing have of your butt to keep the Audience captivated. She sings without all the dramatics. That I love and respect so much her talent. Brava...

I certainly do hope that she is in play for the part because it appears that some are suggesting that Fantasia be handed the role outright. While Fantasia has the energy and is a talented singer indeed, I'm simply not convinced she has the vocal stamina or the range to execute Patti's songs all throughout an entire biopic and consistently pull off vocals of this caliber.

Ledisi is one of the most full-voiced sopranos on the planet. Those high notes are right in her wheelhouse. She's not straining, screaming, reaching - it's full chested belting. And the pitch is PURE. When I hear her sing the only thing I think is, "This has to be what heaven sounds like. God is pleased." 😂💯
