Great track from the 1997 album "Alone Together". Be sure to listen to Mehldau's unreal solo, starting at 3:50.

I didn't know it was possible to do what Mehldau did on the piano there.

Check out Eddie Higgins' _Those Quiet Days_ . Not as hip as this, IMHO, but really good. Has Kevin Eubanks and Rufus Reid. One of the best tracks, and the weirdest sounding: "Love Theme from _Invasion of the Body Snatchers_ ".

Yes indeed, terrific piano solo. Thanks for the tip and for posting the tune. I'd never really focused on Mehldau before.

This is the album with the Kenneth Noland painting on the cover. Noland is identified in the notes on the back as Kenneth Knowland. Careless, careless. Apparently Noland is a friend of Konitz. One would expect them to get it right. Hunh?

Konitz has always been the consummate punster and never lets an opportunity for a word game slip by. Maybe he did it subconciouslee.
