LOL - and do make sure there's nothing behind you first, as your left foot is used to de-clutching and you'll end up stamping on the brake like it's the clutch..... I tried it once, and if it wasn't for my seat belt, I would've gone through the damn windscreen.....

Sometimes my left foot is catching the break a little bit as well as the clutch and this is funny (but not int that particular moment, absolutely not). Also I sometimes press the throttle a bit when breaking and have a motor spinning a little bit faster than idle which sounds strange for a second or two until I understand the reason. And no, I don't have Alzheimer (yet).

All cars will weight transfer forward when braking (as you said, lightens the back end), regardless if they are RWD or FWD.This gives more traction to the front tires, which are doing the turning. Lightening the rear will cause more oversteer, or like you said, sharper turn in. If you brake with the right foot, you are wasting time getting back on the throttle after the apex of a corner. The amount of time it takes to remove the right foot from the throttle and move it over and onto the brake pedal (and then back to the throttle pedal) will cost you precious time. You can accelerate quicker out of the corner if you left foot brake going in. With left-foot-braking, there is no lost time; the transition from throttle to braking is immediate. (Source: Ultimate speed secrets by Ross Bentley) After working up the necessary sensitivity in the left foot (kart racing will help with this), left-foot-braking will also help you drive smoother. It allows you to alter speed without upsetting the balance of the car as much. This means that you will not go beyond the limit of traction of the tires, going into a slide or spin. I really recommend the book I referenced, if you are interested in racing any sort of car in any sort of race!

Denny Dubs in rwd you can use it to control some slip into the car. if you watch the OG Japanese drifters they use a foot brake feint to drift and hardly ever use the e-brake. you can drift really close to people by using the throttle and left foot braking to keep the front and rear of the car in check. touge and rally would see rwd benefits in left foot braking because some slip may be necessary.

regardless of drive setup, wven rwd benefits , when you can acheive proper slip angles around a corner given you modulate it correctly, on tarmac or in dirt

When you get it PERFECT no it does no damage, but even the best drivers don't get it just right every time. If you can, practice in a $500 car or something until you get really good at it first. Somebody else's car, a rental car if you can find a manual, you get the idea haha.

Yes there are a handful of different techniques based on what result you're trying to get, and it's pretty different in a FWD versus an AWD or RWD

Jingo Lopez you can brake with either foot to initiate a slide and get the car pointed at corner exit. the difference would be if your going for a huge inertia style drift vs a quick turn in.

this is a lot of work for one video that came out four years ago, but you can use your audio hardware sound settings to set your speakers to "mono" instead of stereo and it should make them both play. You'd have to turn them back after though, or your videogames and music will sound weird.

It seems to me, and maybe I'm wrong, but this is really not an issue on RWD cars, it's really more to balance a FWD car and to cause the rear to slide, if you flick the car into the corner, use lift-off oversteer or have a RWD car, this doesn't seem to be an advantage, unless you want to move more weight to the front.

in my opinion I only use left foot brake in turns. you can stabilize your car back in turns or dirft. i think in normal streets you dont have to use it. I only do left foot brakeing in rally training on a speed stage. Its only important if you are a rally racer or a drifter(but drifters mustly use handbrake)

Left foot braking definitely allows you to control your wheel speeds much more precisely. If you're only using the gas on a slippery road, it's easy for an open differential to spin one tire (usually the inside of the corner). If you ride a little LFB in the same situation, it doesn't let that tire spin so it's exactly like you say where it acts as a limited slip diff.

+Jover Romualdo Trail braking will help bring the rear around as you mention, using the left foot only allows you to add gas sooner/during cornering. Not sure if using some gas while trail braking will help, very possible considering the Evo's AWD yaw control under throttle.

The thing is though, the USDM Evo 8 and 9s do not have AYC. Only the Evo 10s

+Jover Romualdo I see, I knew the Evo 4 had it so i assumed. If trail braking alone can't get the rear to slide out then the fastest cornering should rely on slow-in fast-out. On pavement it pays off to stay within the grip limits of the tires (or right on it).

You are unlikely to disable it without voiding your warranty (e.g. hacking your ECU). I am very upset about the newer car have all this features just for those dumb asses refuse to learn how to drive, and force other people to pay for this features they do not really need. Driver Manuel for driver license from my father's generation actually has instruction in regards to how to safely stop a car with jam throttle. And for some reason, they took it out when I am getting the later revision of the Manuel.

Depending how fast the ECU reacts, You can still left foot brake, and maintain full throttle, then as soon as the corner permits release pressure from brake and automatically resume full power.. Faster then the human foot can transfer from brake to gas in one motion.

ブラックピットDark Pit i drove both manual and automatics learning to drive and found it was an easier learning gap to learn left foot brake modulation without having to think of switchin g left foot to clutch deing shifting as well as the wider brake pedal, now that I don’t have my manual tranny anymore, gotta wait till I get another one to get a better feel again for it

jose pontes applying the right amount of braking transfers weight/momentum to the front of the car, which means less traction for the rear wheels which then can result in drifts quite easily on gravel/mud scenarios. Thats the way rally drivers with fwd cars do drifts, myself included. Hella fun in my opinion :p

That problem goes away with good bolstered seats and belts, but yeah it's an issue in a lot of street cars.
