Yep! Some of the calls I get from Legacybox customers are literally insane. I have no idea how they haven’t been sued enmass into bankruptcy for dire negligence.

@@gotmemories worked there, i can tell you why this happens. we would scan the film by putting it into a machine that reads the reel with a lens. the lens had to be operated manually to put the reel into focus, change exposure, etc. the scanner sometimes wouldn’t be able to catch parts of the film, or it would go out of frame. protocol for that is to put one of the red stickers on the tape. as for discs, some people had a lot of orders and quotas to meet for the day so they would get so stressed they forget how to burn a cd properly.

Do you experience pixelation when transferring fast moving clips (ie sports)? Someone local transferred my 8mm skateboard tapes and quality was poor. I purchased the Elgato video capture and tried transferring to my MacBook Pro, picture is clear when capturing (minimal pixelation) but after I save and playback, I notice it’s pretty bad. Thanks for your videos and help!

I have a wolverine film scanner, i have notice some of my reg 8mm films are fragile and Was looking for an alternative to saveing these one starting to vinegar syndrome, some of the perforations tore through some of the earlier films.. i want to save them so bad, but a local place wanted to charge me $300 for them all. but he cant scan the fragile end of the film . One is faded, i dont know about film restoration,, I have colored some of the frames that i scanned and i wish they could be in color also in back and white.. some are from a unknown family from colorado ??

Wolverines are not great. If you want them done professionally, it’s going to cost money. Make sure the company you chose has a very high google rating. If you’d like a quote from us gotmemories.com although it is going to cost money and more than the average basic transfer company.
